Blood pressure

Well folks. Just looking for a little insight. I plan to try and keep longevity my largest concern. So I've been taking the steps to help achieve that.

I've been taking my bp measurements for awhile now but just yesterday picked up a glucose monitor as diabetes has appeared in my family from time to time.

Stats
27y/o
6'
195lbs
12-13% bf (an honest estimate)

This mornings measurements fasted

Blood glucose 4.4mmol
Blood pressure 129/89
Beats per minute 57 (I've brought it down over 5 months from 80ish on average)

Current daily supplementation

Omega 3 6g epa/dha
Citrus bergamot 1g
Potassium citrate 6-800mg
Coq 10 400mg
NAC 2g
Vit D3 3-4000ius
Inj. L carnitine 1g
Curcumin 1g
Coated Aspirin 81mg (before bed)
P5P 200mg
UGL cialis 10mg

Cardio 30 minutes 4x weekly. 20 minutes running at 11km/h. Then 10 minutes walking inclined at 6km/h

Water intake 3-4L
Currently eating at maintenance of 2900 cals a day

I don't get why I can't seem to be able to bring my bp down. It's sat consistently at 130-135 for months and I've been running this full supplementation for about 2 months.

Should I up the fish oil to 10g as I've seen suggested? I know 129 isn't crazy high but I'd like to see it lower. I do have an anxiety disorder that does influence it some.

I read first page of replies.. All good.. But I'll add

1) Stress.. If your job or life is high stress, its killer on BP.. No easy fix for high stress, but if you have it you need to work on it. I'm in this boat myself..

2) Try HIIT cardio.. 2 times a week for 5-6 intervals for me has really helped lower my BP. All cardio is not equal.. I pull brake rotors across my lawn for my hit cardio.. I like it better then midnless treadmill walking and I find I get miuch more benefits from 20 mins of HIIT then 60 mins of walking.

3)Sort of related to #1.. Theres supplements to help you be calmer (for lack of a better explantion). All of these have benefits aside from helping keep cool.. Melatonin, 5-HTP, Ashnagawnda, GABA... GABA works so well for me that I used to take it after I did a 6am workout and had to go to work right away.. it would calm me right down..

4) You seem lean and on the right track, but your diet might still be not great. What's it like?

I wish I had your mind set at your age.. Diabetes is rampant in my fathers side of the fmaily.. I'm considered pre diabetic right now in my 40s.. I knew diabetes was in my genes, but I kept hammering food to be "the big guy".. When I finally realized my blood sugars were getting out of hand and did something about it, I had already fucked myself.. I'm sure if I did what you are doing when I was your age I'd be totally fine right now.

LAstly.. Your BP isn't that bad to my understanding.. And like you said, you can't help but cause a rise in BP when you are chekcing BP.. Check it every morning when you wake up until you no longer get bothered by putting the cuff on..

They got a fancy new machine at the Shoppers by my house lol. It was playing music like a slot machine does. Pretty cool machine tho. It checks your weight/bmi... Then can also check bp. This bitch said im obese. Well ya I do got some chub around the belly to loose for sure.

yup GH does this for me too, around 10 points and same as RHR. systemic pressure from water etc.
I don’t get that from hgh. I wonder why heart rate would rise from gh. Not really any reason to. Or maybe I am missing something. Good to know as I will now pay more attention.

Morning @ironwill - the build up of water, which is what GH does to me for the first month anyway, causes your heart to work harder and pump more. At least that is my experience and the explanation I read but I am just regurgitating what I read on medical sites.

This is what has worked for me.
I follow a low sodium diet. 2300-2800 MG a day on a 4250 calorie intake.
I take Multi, Fish Oil, COQ10, Hawthorne berry and D3. I drink Green Tea every morning instead of coffee to lower my caffeine intake. (I still take preworkout).
I workout 5-6 days a week for weight lifting and 4-5 days a week I’ll do 3KM while maintaining my heart rate at 150BPM for the entire 3KM.
I’ve managed to lower mine from 165 / 98 down to 124 / 75 avg without BP Meds.

averaging 130-145/70-80 HR low 60's. This is high for me but the doctor says if your not feeling well and am in pain it will increase your BP. I hurt by lower back pretty bad 10 days ago and been fighting off a minor cold at the same time.
All the same - upping the fish oil to 5K and Nigella Sativa to 2000 mg twice a day.
