Ok, I’m calling you out. Now I hope you are still fat, lol. If not I’m fucked.
nope still in good shape actually. Don't lift heavy like i use to have gone to the high rep lower weight protocol 4-5 times a week.. Could stand to loose 10 to 15 more lbs i would feel better. I like my vodka to much lol. I eat as clean as possible though. Very little sugar or high glycemic carbs... mainly meat, veggies and vodka of course. I will through a pic up next week and you guys can decide. lol

I'll answer this but the Gyms have been closed for a while here so currently not training;

approx. age? 56
Which do you like working best upper or lower body? Back is my fav followed closely by legs
What's your favorite exercise? Rows of all sorts
Whats your worst exercise? It would have to be squats. I like doing them but its painffful to get under the bar due to shoulder mobility/flexibility issues. Just before the last shut down started I noticed the gym had a safety squat bar. I am looking forward to giving that a try.
How long do you lift approx each session? 60min
How many times a week? 5x
Do you lift fast with little rest between sets or slower with more rest? We train fast. We rest between sets just long enough for the other person to do their set and to adjust the bar/machine weight. So normally well under a minute between sets.
Do you do high reps or Low? moderate
Do you lift lighter weights for reps or moderately heavy to heavy weight? I lift lighter than I did when I was younger as I dont want an injury. At my age an injury could be the end of lifting
Do you do many of forced reps? some, did more when I was younger
Do you do many rest pause sets? no, though dabbled in them when I was younger
Do people at gym ask you many questions about your lifting? Some. I dont like talking to others during my workout. I will talk all they want after but not during.
Do you have a set routine when you walk into the gym or do you play it by ear? We have a plan when we enter the gym but are flexable if needed. I wont slow the pace of the routine down to wait for equipment that is being used so we will swap in other exercises if needed so we don't have to wait.
Have you ever competed? wanted too but haven't as of yet
Do you lift because you love to lift or cause you like the way it makes you look? both
Other?
@musclememory all I can say about competing is you really have to want to do it and do it for yourself no one else and do it to win even if you don't. Also do it for the learning. I learned so much about tweaking diet when I plateaued, tweaking gear when I plateaued, what gear worked best for me, how to work through hunger, how to train through pain, how to focus on one thing and no matter how uncomfortable it got u did not stop cause it was temporary, find a training partner that will go through it with you and help you out, you don't necessarily need a coach but someone to look at your plan and critique it and to assess your progress who will not let you get away with shit ( why pay big buck for a coach everything is out on the internet). If your not huge get ripped to shreds... that is what I did and I did very well ... cause it is fucking hard as hell to do that and most don't. I had a lot of fun doing the first time second time not so much third time blah so I stopped and went back to powerlifting lol... If your having shoulder mobility problems doing back squats... safety squat bar squats are awesome. Olympic cambered bars are awesome as well, if you have a home gym look into one. If there is a smith machine I take bar straps and put them on each side of bar near each trap by my head hold on to them and do squats. If they have wooden blocks or something like that that are say 2 ft high use a dip belt put weight on it get up on the blocks ... hang the weight between the blocks and squat.

Only time I usually pull a muscle is hung over. I believe your water balance is screwed up. So I don’t like risking it. Now when I was in my 20’s my training partner would force me Lol.
Rest pause on legs, feels like you could never stop. Damn the legs recover fast.
fuck .... in my 20's I could train while I was drinking lol

I have started the process twice to prep for competition, both had to end early. The first time I got a job in another part of the country which worked 14 days on 7 days off. We worked at different sites where not all had access to a gym so I had to call preping off. The second time I injured my shoulder getting out of a hot tub and required surgery. That was the end of that too...lol We will see if I give the can a third kick. I still feel like I would like to give it a go. I'm going to wait and see how things go after the gyms open up here in the only Jurisdiction in North America where indoor fitness is not allowed... Way to go Ontario...lol

I feel like I’m gonna need to put in some more years before I’m able to compete (and actually step on stage thinking I’d have a chance )

I always have a cheat day once a week where I splurg and eat crap and then stay strict the next 6days.And my splurging is not to bad.

I literally just started the journey to getting cut this week. Dropped about 750 calories a day and added cardio 6 days a week. I always feel better when I'm doing cardio. My joints and connective tissue just seem to be happier.

I'm not cheating yet. But I will add in a cheat day soon. I just spent 8 months eating! The disk I herniated at L5 S1 3 months ago really threw a wrench in the works for a bit.

I surpassed the bodyweight was when I first started training again (171) in Oct 2019. I hit 173 this time. My BMI is far better than it was then. In 2019 I figure I was 20% plus maybe. This time its lower to start. I never lost definition in calves, arms and delts. I want to gt to 10% or better this time. I fell short last year before I went away.

No cheat days, lol. Seriously. Because one turns into 2, then you are just eating normal.
Maybe if you eat a bowl of potato chips call that your cheat, but I wouldn't do that very often like once a month, especially if you want to get below 10%
If you got the money Funnyman is wicked at helping you achieve your goals.
