I'm asking in the competitiors corner b/c I think it's something to do with my sodium/potassium/magnesium levels..
I get constant muscle knots. Usually in my forearms/biceps. They are awful to the point that I can't use my hands sometimes.
Last night I used a sledge hammer to pound in 4 fence posts. Took me 15 mins. When I was done, my forearms were so pumped/cramped up from holding the hammer that I couldn't hold a glass of water last night. Even after the pump left, they were still cramped and locked up. Today, I still can't make a fist and squeeze. Typing is actually difficult.
They get so bad I have to go to chiro and they do dry needling and it makes it a lot better. But as soon as I do a bicep workout or some manual labour, they get all hard and knotted and I loose some function. My chiro said its from contracting my forarm muscles with no movemenrt. So curling, my forearms are contracted., but my hands stay locked for the set so those forarm muscles don't go through any ROM.. And when I'm done the set, they stay locked up. It's like static contraction training, but accidentily and when its over, the muscles are locked..
I am on a aitkins diet.. I do add salt to everything. I do add potassium to my water at about 1grm a day.. I eat lots of cheese for calcium. I take magnesium everyday..
what might be causing this?
Is their something in blood work I should get checked?
my chiro told me to do forearms full ROM exercises.. I tried and they just made my forearms lock up again..
I have tried stretching, which helps a tiny bit..
But to me, there must be something wrong which causes this to happen. I'd rather figure out the cause than to find things to help after the damage has been done again.
