Things witnessed with your eyes at the gym

Just tell him enough is enough dude your not proving anything to anybody you look like a fool and your dangerously missusing gym equipment keep it up and your getting 86'd.

The actual problem comes down to pretty much every community owned gym issue.. They hire female or timid males to work the gym. So they really don't enforce rules because they are too scared and uncomfortable to do so.. I've seen people bring in tripods to film themselves when filming/picutres is against policy, I've seen people work out in barefeet (against policy), I've seen the same people over and over walk away and leave bars with weights on them (against policy) etc.. and the staff literally pretend they see nothing so they don't have to enforce policy.

Funny thing, the ONLY people I've ever seen leave weights out or plates on bars at his gym is middle aged women... Actually one is about 50 years old, in great shape, but always leaves her shit out lol...

The biggest piss off i have at the gym now isnt so much what i see, its what i can smell.
Seems to be a steady influx of new members (to both the gym and Canada) and the stench of rotten armpits blended with human shit is just getting to be too much. Thirty feet away and its so bad you can taste it. It just ruins a guys workout in a hurry. There used to be an unspoken public contract about personal hygiene, but i guess that disappeared with everything else that made this country decent.
I remember in Jr high, we had shop class right after gym class, and there was one or two that were pretty stinky and our shop teacher held up a stick of deodorant and explained its purpose. That guy would be fired today, maybe even jailed for “hate”
Anyway, just a week or so ago, one of these dirty culture enrichers was fondling his nuts while looking at everyone between his “sets” of pulldowns. But, being bothered by any of this shit is white supremacy.

It was bad here at Home Depot and such, new workers that smelt like armpits running people thru the till. Made me gag. I started to avoid the ones I knew who would smell.

But something must have been said, or those people were dismissed, because there is no armpit stink anymore.

We have over time had a few teenagers who didn’t like to use enough underarm deodorant. So i bought a stick of deodorant and put it int he bathroom. The last time I had to mention for someone to use it, I pulled it out, showed them how old and dried out it looked and said they need to wear more deodorant, or scrub better or they would have to use the work one. (BTW, I talked to them in private)

Problem solved.

I cannot stand the smell of body odor. I had to actually once ask a customer to leave becasue he smelt so bad, that other customers were leaving. I didn’t care if I lost him as a customer, no one should have to put up with that.

same guy was at it again tonight with his broom stick.. I Watched him closer for a few mins.. HE holds it with one hand dead centre and then twirls it on either side of his body as he walks across the room.. occasionally he lets it hit him in the armpit where he holds it and uses his other hand in a punching motion..
Lol! He seems to be mimicking Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon. The armpit thing is a chamber that we don't often use with the Bo or the Jo, as it reduces the long-range capacity of the two weapons. Twirling to the side, I have never seen.

I can totally relate. 2 dudes, one smells like onion all the time another smells like masala. Our gym is about 10000 sq ft so pretty big and these guys always ended up in an area all by themselves, you would think they get the hint. We all get sweaty & gross but man you can tell these guys dont shower daily. 🤮

Yeah I literally had to stop training at the gym near the college and university in my city. Half the equipment was broken and the smell was horrible. I don’t want to fucking live in this place anymore if this continues much longer.

But to add to the thread, the few different guys I’ve seen over the years that use the dual cable set up to leverage their body weight and jump around with the plates maxed out thinking they’re training to be spider man or something. Always gave me a laugh. But at least they wore deodorant.

I never understood why someone would be that disrespectful towards others. Why would you go to the gym stinking like that. I asked a Punjabi friend about this and he told me they are just assholes.

You can stay at home with the same T-shirt not taking showers for two days but you wouldn’t go to the gym like this (especially synthetic fabrics) these people who often do this they just don’t care at all.

I had a job managing staff in an office environment and I would address this, never had to involve HR but some individuals might get defensive at first.

I know people from the same areas of the world who are always spotless and perfumed head to toe.

It seems a cultural phenomenon where they don’t gauge how disrespectful that is to others.

What used to shock me is in Cuba you would go anywhere and teh people were always very tidy and clean wherever they worked. And this is Cuba, its tough to find anything.

But back here in Canada staff thinks its ok to come to work in sweats.

I worked with a young teenage East Indian girl.. She had good friends, very smart, athletic, in shape, tried her best all the time, funny, been in Canada since she was a baby... Her parents would not let her wear deodorant. YOu could tell she went about her day trying not to sweat so she didn't stink.. He close friends told me she showers everyday before school but her parents won't let her wear deodorant.. Her parents were nice people and they didn't smell when I meet them a handful of times..

I don't know its its that they don't care or they have cultural reasons behind it???

mmm could be for sure. My friend is very assimilated to western culture. I will ask him that lol. But to my knowledge there is no cultural, ethnic or religious rule to this -in a practical sense of course- you can have crazy interpretations of any religious book and I know that one of the principles of Islam is interpreted as women shouldn’t wear any good scent that calls “unwanted” attention especially from men. Maybe the case of your colleague’s parents? Probably not, 80% of Indians are Hindu and I don’t know anything about it, the answer might be there though. 😅

My friend is not Hindu he is Sikh, another fact that makes this even more interesting.

Anyways I am derailing this thread too much, sorry.

Dude I was in Saudi Arabia for work last year and they wear some of strongest perfumes and colognes over there! Regardless of where I went, office, airport, hotel or the mall...some men and even some ladies had this strong flowery, sometimes fruity smell that was hard to ignore : )

I've found looking for healthy non toxic deodorant without heavy metals etc has been trial and error for what works snd doesn't. The one I have now im definitly smelling a bit ripe by the end of my shift but out of descency I always have a few dabs of cologne

Could be, I know the family was extremely conservative... Maybe they didn't want her wearing scents as its like makeup?? I'm sure they know their is scent free deodorant though..

I started using my wife’s Doves few years back, who doesn’t like the babies smell and it’s not as pungent as most I have used. I work construction and I keep a stick in my glove box for the occlusional mid day top up just to be nice to others.

I hear you.... but avoiding heavy metals but using cologne is sort of picking your poising.. both are toxic, heavy metals probably worse, but who knows..

I use old spice aluminum free... it's scented with fragrance, which I don't like... but it does last all day long.. And its not 20$ like other aluminum free stuff.

I haven’t been to a gym in 3 decades.

But once some fucker stole my chicken breasts out of my pants pocket. Too hot in the car to leave them there, so I put them in my pants pocket (yes they were raw and in a vac bag, so would be perfectly fine for a couple hours).

I never left anything in my locker besides my shirt and pants, so no need to lock it.

I come back, chicken breasts were gone.

I figured they needed it more than me, lol. But what a fucking weird thing to steal.

So I had to go back to work and get more. It was backtracking and out of the way, that’s why I brought them with me.

Never really saw any weird stuff and if I did, I ignored it, went on with my training.
That's amazing, for one like having chicken in your pocket is wild, and then whoever stole it must be unhinged. Unbelievable.

Couple hours in an air conditioned building is nothing. If the chicken is fresh, you could leave it out 8 hours no problem, as long as you cooked it fully.

Possibly a cultural thing, not all but some of the Indian men I see daily smell very bad and I've been told they think it's feminine to wear deodorant like it's a perfume, it's probably a regional thing. Some people just smell worse than others, I've been told that my armpits don't smell, I do shower daily and I almost never wear deodorant, I just don't need it but i do own deodorant and keep it at work, in my gym bag etc for times I think I smell although my girlfriend says I'm just being self conscious. I can't believe that some of the smells coming from some of these guys could possibly be that bad if they were indeed showered it's incredibly offensive sometimes.
