Did she specify the type of mask to use? Last time I listened to what she had to say she still hadn’t completely figured out the concept of source control v. Ppe.

Was just watching White House press briefing.
While the "reporters" were talking (protesting), you can clearly see some of their masks inflate and deflate while talking and breathing.
To me this suggests a very restricted air flow. With that would come a lack of oxygen wouldnt it?
I guess it would explain the brain damage some of them are suffering from....

It’s a valiant effort.... they don’t even get the n95 respirators that should be used for the purposes of infection control correct.

Every single one shown had a exhalation valve...lol. Guess why that’s a problem folks? Maybe this informed gentleman can tell me.

Another example of people that either don’t completely understand the subject matter of what they are presenting or have an agenda or both.

I watched to about the 8 minute mark and couldn’t watch further because they lost all credibility. Even the studies quoted were all misrepresented. Almost slide of hand. But if you are paying attention, you see what’s going on.

Yeah, masks no matter how badly made, work to an extent. They actually work for what the local health authorities are looking for.

Now do I want to wear one, fuck no.

Now what I don’t understand is, they pump masks, but if they pumped vit d sumplimentation as hard, it would likely be as effective in reducing numbers, or even more so, without being as invasive.
How many informal peer reviewed papers with how many thousands of people need to be done before our government supports it, and even if it didn’t work, it’s harmless, just like what they say about the masks.
 
Looks like a mask mandate is headed our way in fort mcmurray tomorrow. Heavy fines proposed for repeat offenders. Up to $10,000. Jail. Etc.
so, i do not want to make myself sick with a dirty rag on my mouth so it will be my full face respirator. That way i can breathe clean. Add that to the hazmat suit i will buy, it should scare the shit out of the tv watchers.

Despite what I say about that video. I too have my issues with public masking and it’s effectiveness. I think public masking is more about politics than actual health.

It’s visual. Everyone sees it.

It’s feels like you’re doing something because it’s filtering your breath ( to varying and questionable degrees yes) but it makes people feel like it’s doing something

So the government looks like it’s actually doing something to protect the public.

Whether it actually works or not is arbitrary as far as the government is concerned.

It calms the masses. It makes most feel better. It makes most feel protected.

Masks do work. But when worn properly. When handled properly. When used with other measures such as hand hygiene and sanitization. So while I’ll dig my heels in when someone says they don’t work, I also can argue that for public use.... there are many variables that limit effectiveness and many questions that still need answers.

I think you’re right sorbate. There are many things that health experts and government should be pushing but it’s the masks that are the focus for the reasons above.

In my mind anyway. What that’s worth? Probably not much lol!

Its funny cause the mask plan is actually written in the Rockefeller Report.
And besides the multiple studies over the past 10 yrs disqualifying their effectiveness, a new recent study contradicts the previous ones.
Amazing how science has evolved over the past few months. Lol

All I think of when people say they don’t work, is only one meat plant in Alberta instituted manditory masks and was the only plant that didn’t close from Covid. Trust me they were not using the masks properly, lol. I can pretty much guarantee that.

But it is political as well. Before told us we didn’t need them, now gotta have sex with one on, lol.

I think you’re right there too sir. No way all those folks were wearing things correctly. And hard to argue with that fact. Those fucking meat plants are crazy! People basically working on top of one another. Anything to help limit touch and breathing on one another!

Lots of layers to it all. I mention the politics of it because as this pandemic wears on I think it becomes more about politics and less about health.

To your point too sorbate. I wore ppe and have been exposed to hundreds with covid and I haven’t gotten sick. If I wasn’t wearing anything I would have 110%. Bit of a different animal I know but in principle kinda the same.

Those studies have to be spoken to correctly. None of them disqualify mask effectiveness.

Masking is effective. Those studies are being misquoted and those touting them aren’t being fully transparent with the information. They are telling part of the story.

Not in reference to the n95 and not even the cloth masking one. Those spoke to different things. N95 vs. procedural masks where n95 was no more effective in regular healthcare setting. Well duh? The only place that should make a difference is perhaps for an airborne virus or where agmp’s are carried out. Some still dispute that a level 3 mask is as effective as an n95. Without the seal though I don’t think you can exactly make that claim unless you did a massive study.

The cloth masks were in reference to cloth masks in a healthcare setting where workers were working on infected flu patients hands on. Cloth masks have never been recommended for such practice. Far different than walking around a grocery store. Further to that - anyone will tell you that anything used incorrectly is a problem. More misrepresentation.

The whole story and whole picture must be spoken too. These guys aren’t speaking to the whole story.

This further blurs peoples misunderstandings about all this.

Which you also said. So the bottom line for the general public is that they do NOT work. Any sense of safety they may bring will be false. It could lead people to get closer to others (within the 2 meter zone) because of their false sense of security brought on by the masks. Causing people to potenially expose themselves when they would not have do so if they had of just used social distancing. The only folks that think this gov is doing any thing useful are the fucktards that voted for that liberal trainwreck of a government.

I don’t think I could go that far to say that. There are limitations sure.... but the verdict is still out.

There is no concrete evidence either way. Anyone saying otherwise is not telling the whole truth.

This idea of public source control is a manageable prevention measure that relies on the idea of precautionary principle.

Basically the idea of keeping most of a person’s goobers from spewing out of there mouth. Some day 2-5 years down the road we will better understand if this idea was a positive or negative one.

There was a cool thing I saw, not sure if it was on here. But, take off your pants and piss on the guy beside you, put on underware and piss. Yeah, you still get piss everywhere, but with underware on it is contained closer to your body.
Does the underware contain the piss, nope, but now if you get closer to mr. Pissy pants, you’ll not get pissed on.

Since covid, when I talk to people at a distance without a mask, I have noticed the amount people spit when they talk, lol.

But remember, I don’t want to wear it either, but I’m not going to overlook the obvious just because I hate them, lol.

Thing is we have lost the whole reason for shut down and masks, for our hospitals to keep up, not to not have a single case. Covid will have to run it’s course, and this is just massively delaying it.

I am very disapointed in Ford.

We can organize protests in a year. They will have had their time by then. Then I’m revolting. I know there will be lots to join me.
