"Uncle" Gene ... the "Godfather of Grappling" lived a remarkable life; He was deeply admired by many, and especially by the Catch [as Catch Can] Family and all of us at AKJJ.
Some of our ground game comes from Lou Thesz, Karl Gotch, Billy Robinson & Gene Labell, through my time with the UWFi [i.e. Pride] in Japan and Takada Nobuhiko.
Very sorry to hear about his passing and thank him deeply for all he gave; Condolences to his family and friends
