Has anybody with adhd decided to stop taking their medication in the hopes of just living healthier?

Ive been on 30mg Adderall for close to 10 years and I have a feeling its the cause of a lot of my issues, I get head aches I have high blood pressure, I suspect it effects my gym gains and recovery etc, I cant drink coffee because its just too much stimulants, I have anxiety which I always have had but panic attacks and stuff like that I never did until the last few years I decided to lower my dose for a few days and just see how I feel. Itd be nice to come right off but I dont want to be cluster fuck stupid again like I used to be, always irritable, over whelmed by things and impulsive. Anybody ever come right off and feel glad they did?

My wife and daughter take Vyvanse and it turns them into a zombie, she only takes it when she is working but yeah not healthy in my opinion.

I used to take Ritalin when I was younger and did it for many years. I stoped for the same reasons you’re thinking about stopping.
Cutting gluten after I became celiac and dairy of my life gave me tremendous improvements plus my brain found ways to improve also along the years.
In my opinion, we all have adhd and taking medicine prevents the brain from finding ways to deal with it.

In most cases it’s just propaganda to sell more medicine. I do understand that are more serious cases like fasd that people cannot function without it but That is just a minority.

I’m not saying I am 100% by any means, but much better now.

I hope that helps.

I replaced dexedrine with methylene blue + microdosing psilocybin which has dramatically increased my energy, focus, productivity and mood.

Something for you to look into. I'm not a fan of the long term dopaminergic depletion and neuroplasticity damage amphetamines cause. I was on Dexedrine for about 6 years best decision I made was coming off it! I went cold turkey but it sucked so would recommend a slow taper in your case as you're on a much higher dose then I was.
