Hair loss protocols

Lately I've been working on restoring some hair density that has gone over the years. The density loss hasn't been that significant that anyone would really notice and it's not consistent with MPB more like diffuse thinning I suppose.

I don't believe its related to the cycles I generally run, except one time with a higher dose of test and a bit of tren I had my wife commenting on my hair density. Anyhow I will never use tren again, or high doses of test without a DHT blocker just to be safe. I'll probably stick to deca only or low dose test with EQ from now on. I have thick luscious hair I want to keep it that way.

CoolRicks hair restoration protocol 😎:
-5 Mins of hard brushing (this made the biggest difference) - Daily
-5 Mins of vigorous scalp massaging with emu and peppermint oil. (Leave oil in hair for 2 hrs then wash) - only on wash days
-Derma-stamp once per week (1.5mm)
-Nizorol shampoo (least difference for me)
-Apply small amount of coconut oil before bed - Daily

Supplements
-Taurine
-Chromium
-Grape seed extract
-Vitamin E
-Biotin

*EDIT* forgot to add a few supplements

Nizorol made the least difference as I don't have MPB due to high systemic DHT. It appears I've lost some density just due to age + stress causing fibrosis of the scalp. My focus has been on natural products and mechanical stimulation of the scalp, I didn't want to use chemicals the rest of my life.

Hopefully this helps someone as much as it did for me.

Feel free to share your hair loss or care protocols!

Like my dad my solution will be to shave it when the time comes!!
That's definitely an easier way to go about it. I have to admit it's a lot of work everyday to take care of my hair and growing it out doesn't help either lol.

Oral minox was a game changer for me, and the fact it slightly lowers my blood pressure was a win too. But if you’re committed to going minimal chemicals, I’d recommend rosemary oil in your stack. I smell like a fuckin hippy, but the shit works.

I have no idea how much hair I've lost, as I've been shaving my head since 1977, for the most part. I hope you have good luck with your protocol.
Thanks. So far I'm happy with the improvements.

I've heard about rosemary oil, I never tried it. I did try moringa oil here and there but i couldn't tell if it was doing anything.

Peppermint oil has been shown in studies to work just as good as topical minoxidil if not better. I've only started using the oils in the past 2 weeks and the improvements are astounding. I went from 7/10 density to 7.5/10 with just brushing. My scalp is only slightly visible from where i part my hair and under direct light. 🙂

What type of peppermint oil do you use? Unlike the gents who just say they shave their head - I have no interest in being bald or half bald. It runs in my family and to date, and I am not young, I have still have a full head of hair but like you - it has thinned somewhat. I'm also older than you I suspect. I use topical treatment - RU5881 and have for a long time. I got out of the habit of derma rolling which I should start again but I won't spend hours daily on my hair.
When you say brushing - do you mean just standing in front of a mirror and brushing your hair for 5 minutes and this made the most difference? Is this because the brush is like a scalp massage or just fluffs your hair up and looks better?
Thanks for the info.

It runs in my family too. One of my brothers has MPB, the other has diffuse thinning neither use AAS. Oddly I have the most density.

I'm not sure what kind of peppermint oil it is. I had some laying around that my Mom gave my wife for headaches. If you're already using RU5881 with good results I'd say stick to that and dermaroll or stamp once a week. I just wanted to go natural as best I could.

As far as brushing goes i do 5-10 minutes of brushing as hard as I can bear. I usually do this while watching TV. This is to manipulate the tissue for blood flow and break down the fibrosis. I think if you brush, use RU5881 and dermaroll you should see an improvement. I don't think this would be that time consuming.

After 2 weeks of massaging with oil i noticed an increase in vellus hair around my hair line. It might sound strange but i swear I'm seeing daily changes.

Where are you sourcing your RU these days?

Minoxidilmax in the US - they have a ton of products and almost everything that is oral is available topical as well. Never had one stopped at the border or charged more other than international shipping if I recall correct. I am sure I could find it in Canada but considering they have a multitude of products, I prefer to order all at once.

Have you experienced any heart palpitations or any sides with RU5881? I was reading up on it incase I ever need in future and it seems to be the most promising minus reports of heart issues.

No, if I did I would end the use immediately. Never had a side effect from any hair loss products of kind. I would like to read the heart issues (scientific studies - or papers), please post them as someone else asked me if I read anything about heart issues and RU.
thanks

Honestly I had a tough time trying to find human studies on it as its still a research chemical. The most I've found really are just personal reports on sides which could be biased, dose dependent or simply not true but it seems to pop up quite a bit.

Some people report to have experienced palpitations along with anxiety and chest pain but there are others with no problems too. Either way good to know you had no problems with it so far (y)

Morning @bboy123 - considering the plethora of compounds many people take at the same time -many linked to fatalities and banned for this reason such as DNP (a pesticide), how would you ever know if it is the RU5881 that is causing any of your symptoms. There are exceptions with people just using it with test or just primo and can provide good feedback / people using it alone providing feedback.
RU5881 never made it to market because it didn't work. There are multiple scientific articles (I posted a few) and it was during the research phase on humans using it for prostate cancer and it did not work, but what the scientists noticed was it made hair grow hence how it because a hair loss drug. I don't ever recall reading anything about heart issues but that doesn't mean there aren't any. Hence my inquiry for something other than anecdotal opinions.

This is why I brought up my own protocol. All of these chemicals, finasteride and minoxidil included, have some nasty side effects. Natural remedies, and fixing lifestyle choices (diet, supplementation included) is something I advocate for.

Based on digging around the main contributor of hair loss is inadequate blood flow to the scalp and fibrosis.

Now as far as compound selection goes, as @Goldenrod mentioned, people are taking so many different things it's hard to know what's doing what. Anything DHT related or test will cause hair loss. But how many people run a compound solo with no test? Deca or NPP only is probably the only cycle I feel like running anymore.

I'm wondering about EQ and hair loss though, perhaps @3ml or @Funnyman can chime in on EQ as I believe they may have used it solo.

No hair loss for me on EQ
