Donating Blood

I donated blood today and a thought crossed my mind...on the pre-draw questionnaire there is a line about ever injecting illegal steroids...I selected 'NO' which is factual....for now. (I had high iron and needed to bleed to reduce it as per my ND.)

My assumption is that if I ever select YES in the future I will no longer be able to donate...and maybe I will need to for lowering various blood markers. Has anyone had any experience with being honest or not for donating?

I don't want to harm anyone with my juiced out blood in the future either. I don't think there is much risk as I plan on taking Test only as my first cycle but wanted some feedback from the pros!

Last thing I want is to be blocked from donating, a record /paper trail I'm on AAS, and having to eyeball blood loss from poking myself. Lol

I told the nurse I was on TRT after the questionnaire. He said you selected no to illegal steroids to which I replied yes because I’m on TRT and they are prescribed by my Dr. He didn’t have any concerns and I told him my hemoglobin was high and that’s why o was donating.

I have a pretty good rapport with one of the nurses and have had some off the record convo's (we love you guys' blood ;) she says ) . Not an official statement but apparently the concern is about the sharing of needles, not the minute amounts of AAS that you might be contributing to the large pool that your donation goes into. Makes sense to me, not the use of the word "injecting" rather than using or consuming. I am happy with the answer I give.
I don't share needles nor do I think this is a problem in the AAS community but they do have to cover their asses of course and I support that.

I just lie. Now when I donate I do not take an AI or cialis or viagra a couple days before, just the steroids.

Anyhow they are worried more about us having a disease from sharing needles. I do not share needles.

They always love my veins, llol.

As Gondar1 stated, once everything is pooled together, there wouldn’t be enough steroid left to make any difference. Shit if anything it may help someone heal better after surgery, lol

Ya 100 percent that’s the only concern I bet. Like we’re heroin addicts just passing dirty test needles around hahah that’s fuckin retarded.

I think there's something about Accutane or other prescription acne drugs that disqualifies donation for a certain amount of time. I don't know exactly I don't take it

No problems donating here either, and that's not the only question on their list I have to lie about ;)

I had a chat with a nurse there too and every blood bag we donate is tested before it is used so even if your blood was somehow tainted they would catch it, and theyll inform you as well

Yea and they could take different parts of your blood too. Platelets. Plasma hemoglobin etc

I am happy to donate now, for years and years it was thrown in garbage as i get monthly phlebotomies. Now near civilization, i can happily donate and my doc is giving me a sheet that will say i can dump every 30 days opposed to 55 days...
They do love the high rbc and hemo numbers...lol...

What do you have to say or show to your doc to get a sheet for that?

He had prescribed me phlebotomies as i have high Hematocrit and high RBC's my father has the same and we both have a prescription basically for monthly blood dumps after blood test, so he is making a sheet i can put on my blood services file and then they can go every 30 days, opposed to the 55 days, i am told by my doc, as i advised him it sucks to throw it away and he agreed as there is a shortage on my blood now..i am O negative...

So if you say you are on steroid will they not take blood? I wanna start giving blood cause my rbc count is high plus I do have a pretty rare blood type . Should I just say no to that question ?

it is my understanding they test all and discard any suspect donations. the questionnaire is there to lessen the amount of donations they would have to test, i highly doubt they would take anyone's word for it before testing and giving the blood to someone else.

I do, as do any others on here that juice and donate...They worry about needle sharing from what i was told at red cross and diseases. I put no and feel ok about it because i have never shared a needle and mine is administered with DMSO and oral...lolol...jk
I put no, if you put yes, i believe...Correct me if i am wrong, you will be banned from blood donations???
