Does dropping trt make hcg more effective?

My trt doc said just lower my test dose to 100mg a week while on hcg. I don't know if this is because lower trt dose may help the hcg work better or maybe because of how much aromatisation hcg causes..I can't seem to find much articles on it other then it's benificial to add into trt.

Well....
No it's not gonna help the hcg work better (95% confidence in this statement)

HCG when used by itself leads to a testosterone pulse. Possibly the thinking is that this pulse combined with your lowered TRT dose will land you back at the same total level as the higher TRT dose without HCG. And yes HCG derived T has been said to aromatize at a higher clip than natural T

Anyone here on trt plus hcg ?

Waiting for endo to maximise arimidex dosages, I use 0.25 e3-5 days, cuz had gyno issues 2 months in trt, ralox got rid of hard lump but still sensitive. Blood were always great E2, prolactin.. but it just said less then 88mol which is normal but doesnt say exact number

In my experience test + hcg works much better than test alone. But i agree with the others, it's gotta be that your doc wants to keep you in the same ranges. With the hcg you'll have test coming from two sources now.

There are some doctors actually using HCG as a standalone aka HCG monotherapy. Im not sure why this hasn't caught on more actually.

Yea he didn't officially lower it either he said he'll write it for 160mg test a week still but he said just take 100. Must be just to keep it in normal ranges

Just curious, did your doc prescribe the HCG? If so why?

Yea he did perscrib it, 500iu 3 times a week for fertility. Trying to have another baby
Morning @Bigbear - does your doctor know you are trying for another child? I assume yes as reading this it appears he just prescribed 500 iu 3 times per week. Before prescribing another drug and throwing a dart at the dart board while blindfolded, were you asked for a sperm test?
I've been through this shit before and most docs don't have clue - they concentrate on women's fertility but the odd doctor does understand male fertility. Just a FYI - no blasting and just 100 mg a week of script test and I had azoospermia. Zero sperm and I feel like a parrot saying this again but the two docs I saw, said I will never have sperm again. They didn't know what they were talking about and one was a specialist with another 4 years in urology.
Anyway, I am surprised if your doctor was willing to work with you he/she didn't prescribe HMG or HCG and a SERM. None of this is relevant unless you had a sperm test first to find out if you have swimmers and if the morphology is normal.
If you want to chat about this as I have been through the process - don't want to hijack your thread. If your thread and I have nothing to hide so I can write it here or in PM.
The desire for sex - hormone balancing is important but most men can still ejaculate the question is do you have any sperm in the ejaculate and if you do is it normal? If it isn't normal then the chances of it hitting the mark goes down drastically.

Once I know what the sperm test said and if you had one, I can drone on more. If you didn't have one, I would call the doctor and ask to be referred for one. It is easy especially if your near the lab. Do the deed at home and then drop if off at the lab.

Best of luck having another little one.

Thanks Goldenrod I'll ask my doc and see if I can get the speem test.

Is he a specialist? I have only heard come off entirely and use only HCG, for sperm anyways. I also have seen HCG work quicker and more effectively when I've done that. It's just two weeks and then the HCG will raise your testosterone again.

I'm thinking I might try that

He's a trt specialist but not in fertility. I know a lot of clinics now are prescribing both together to maintain testicular function, but what I haven't read much about is its effectiveness when just added to trt a few years after starting it.

TRT does shut you down like instantly so even if it does cause things to start up it won't get the chance to try to keep things going on its own. I definitely don't think HCG is a bad idea while on TRT, as long as you don't take too much (I'd never go above 1500iu) because of desensitization. Honestly though, if you come off TRT and stay on HCG alone for a few months then I think if anything you will feel even better than trt alone because other hormones will be higher and there's just something that feels good when your testes work. Like for sex orgasms feel different and more whole. For myself that's how it is, I swear being able to tell my body is trying to release little swimmers is like someone dropping a plate on the floor, you notice it.

That would give you the best results, it's basically insurance for the year and man does it ever make a difference compared to someone who doesn't do that at least once a year.

Maybe I'll try coming off. Do you mean never more than 1500iu a week or per injection?
