There was an article in National Geographic this month about how having a clean and organised home significantly reduces anxiety and stress and increases quality of sleep, and has a measurable decrease on cortisol levels. Also, if you make organizing a regular habit, the routine nature of the act of organizing can calm you and a give you a feeling of well-being.

Damn.

My place looks like a bomb went off in a pallet of miscellaneous crap from Amazon.
 
If you want to take this to another level, look into feng shui. It's made a difference in how i organize and decorate my place.
