9 months in

So I'm 9 months in and everything seems to be dialed in good Testosterone 24.9 nmol/l and free testosterone 704 pmol/l. Off the anastrozole and estradiol staying normal. But why do I not feel better? Don't get me wrong, a lot of things have improved majorly in 9 months, but my primary symptoms that made me take the leap are still there. I still feel I'm dragging my ass to do anything (not as bad but still worse than I'd expect) and the big one, libido and erection quality. Both improved a bit at the start of all this, but it's still a major problem. I can post all my bloodwork later, bit I'm on the road and it's hard from a phone. 24.9 test and 704 free test show at the high end of normal and I've held steady there for months. I'm only doing 20mg every second day, so is there an advantage to going higher? Will my doc even allow me to go above normal? I'm at a loss at this point. I asked to go on HCG about two months and I'm doing 500 units twice a week. I haven't noticed anything by taking that. Are my expectations just too high and this is maybe as good as it gets?

Has your doctor considered other potential issues? There are a lot of other issues that impact how you feel, libido, etc.
If you feel something is off, you know yourself so talk to your doc and explore other potential avenues.
Just a suggestion but good your feeling somewhat better.

What's your shbg and estradiol?
I don't have access to my full results right now at camp, but my estradiol was high at my six month, they put me on Anastrozole and at my 9 month it was back down to normal. Shbg I don't know offhand.

I couldn’t agree more. If you checked your male hormone panel and everything is ok here then the problem is somewhere else.

Check your prolactin and cortisol levels. This could give more answers especially about your libido.

Take into consideration every psychological issue. I can assure that any distraction in the moment of having sex will change your erection quality. You can trick this a bit with viagra and experiment yourself.

I should also add that overall I'm feeling vast improvements. I've managed to lose 40lb, and although I probably have 40 more to go, the difference that alone made has been huge. I'm back in the gym for the first time in years. There are just a few pieces left in the puzzle I'm trying to nail down....

As noted above by all them smart fellers overall wellness or lack thereof is a result of many different factors, don't underestimate this one. Dropping 40 lbs in 9 months means you are in a significant caloric deficit, probably somewhere between 450 and 600 calories per day *. That right there is enough to make most people feel off, I swear I can feel if I'm down a hundred or two per day. Throw in some common issues that affect digestion and absorption of nutrients and you got yerself a whole set of issues.

Seeing a full bloodwork panel is always helpful but I'd be real interested in seeing an accurate, detailed description of your diet. And OMG please don't say "my diet is on point" lol, hearing that too often and I don't have enough hair left to be able to afford ripping handfuls out.

And I didn't catch another answer but I think it's unlikely that upping your TRT dose would help anything. Sure there is a chance but I think at that plasma level the chance is small. Only my opinion and notice I didn't say don't try it but if you go to some certain point you'll be inviting sides especially as you are still overweight.

* Don't get me started on the 3500 calories per pound thing, it's not universally accurate.

I didn't come out and say it but that is where I was going. If you have any doubts you will get erect, chances are you won't or it won't be 'normal'. Yes, ED meds are great but often people don't need them just like corking your bat. You don't need it to hammer the ball over the fence but once you start in batting practice, it is hard not to want to use one all the time. The mind is powerful and controls so many of our bodily functions and no I am not saying you have a mental disease. If you do, there is no shame in that either. Most people experience stress, depression, and anxiety at some point in life. It usually is episodal but can become chronic if not looked into.

Just a thought and I'm not a doctor hence my suggestion to talk to a doc. You could have perfect hormones and still have the issue and it might be an easy fix.

I also thought TRT would fix all my issues. It didn't. It also created new ones like body dysmorphia. Oh well. Still better off then I was a year ago no questions about it. But hormones won't pay your mortgage. Hah!

Thanks for the input. I'm grateful everyone here genuinely wants to help. As for my diet, I wouldn't say on point but it's pretty damn close lol. For a bit of context, I'm only 5'2 and was morbidly obese until the new year. My highest weight after Christmas was 236 in that frame. I'm down to 196 as of this week. TDEE is 2000-2300 depending on how you calculate it. I'm eating at 1850 cal/day and split is around 170 grams protein with the balance being a little more fats than carbs. I lift 3 times a week and cardio is light steady state on my off days. Protein is mainly lean meats, kinda of Mediterranean, salmon 2-3 times weekly, not for any huge reason than that's what a prefer to eat.

congratulations on the weight loss.

Thanks for all the input again guys. I got the call that my appointment for my one year is coming up in a few weeks so I guess I was a bit off lol. I'm going to make a list of what I've noticed great improvements in, and what I feel I've noticed little or no improvement in. I got on TRT though Onmen, and I get labs every 3 months. After a year they only recommend every six months unless you feel otherwise. My overall experience with them has been good, aside from bouncing between a few doctors at the start. I wasn't fond of that and requested I get the same doctor every appointment which they had no problem with. I already kind of went over my concerns with her via email, and she is not adverse to upping my weekly dose even though my numbers are good as I've been at their starting dose all this time and am still experiencing symptoms. I'm not gonna lie, I'd gladly appreciate a major boost in the gym as well, Although I've been moving in the right direction at a steady pace, it seems so much more difficult than it ever used to be lmao!

Also, I've seen in a few posts that they have shortened the shelf life for the bottles of test. I noticed on my current bottle the rx says to despose after 50 days I believe. Is this really a thing? I always used every bottle to the end, but should I be telling them I want more frequent rx now? Should I keep using it? Should I tell them I want new bottles and give myself a little boost? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

My doctor also said after a year I can have bloodwork every 6 months. I'll probably run a 4 month blast.

Test doesn’t go bad. Go ahead and get more if you can and save it for a blast in the future, lol.
