Tingling pinky fingers and muscle twitches

Does anybody ever get tingling in hands and pinky fingers on both hands at the same time or uncontrollable muscle twitches that last off and on for over a week? Not sure what it is or why. I've got muscle relaxers but I think I might have pinched a nerve. I've also quit caffeine lately so that might somewhat cover the muscle twitches but it's intense my entire tricep twice so much it almost shakes my arm. Same muscle all the time. I've also had a twisted torticollis lately from something happening while over head pressing. Ffs getting old sucks

Dude, i had this the other day. Everytime i bent my left thumb to type on my phone it would twitch uncontrollably. Thankfully it went away. I have no idea what caused it, i felt normal otherwise. My best guess is it was a pinched nerve somewhere.

Had it twice and I had two options considering it was a nerve being aggravated, another term would be what was said above 'pinched nerve'. Lyrica/pregabalin or neurontin/gabapentin are medications that work well for nerve pain and other symptoms. You won't get a pleasant feeling from them - at least I didn't but your body will go into withdrawal especially with lyrica if you don't titrate down very slowly. Most docs say 2 weeks - if on for a few months, I would give myself a few months to cut it down and off if you don't want any withdrawal symptoms.
I had an MRI both times and once it was bones spurs - I just live with it and it does not bother me much.
Next time was much worse and I am still rehabbing it. I took a month off and got a MRI/went to a neurological osteopath and physiotherapy. I am back lifting and approx at 50% of normal weight. I do 30 minutes of rehab exercises at home everyday and then start at the weights.

Does it hurt? The only way you will see all the soft tissue issues is a MRI and if you know a orthopedic surgeon call them as the wait will be 6 months at least otherwise. I know a few and skipped the GP referral and he ordered an emergency MRI in case something was completely tore as I was in agony.
Anytime you have numbness or tingling in your fingers it is 99% of the time - yup an arbitrary number - an issue with a nerve. I tried muscle relaxers at first to help with the pain and it did not help at all. Just Robaxin.
Injuries are so frustrating as I was in the process of gaining approx 5 lbs and was losing BF. I have no idea how I hurt it but I can clearly remember doing push ups with a 120 lb person on my back and eventually my left arm gave out and it caved to the floor. Kept working out and no pain but the next day I woke up in agony.

See a doctor and get the process started or just go to a physiotherapist. I have physiotherapy as some want you to come in and do your exercises there 3 times a week and then put heat on it after. It's a lot of cash when I can do it at home so I just spoke up from the beginning - they send you an e-mail with the program and you do it at home and go in once every two weeks to check the progress.

Thank you for the input. Luckily it's not too painful I just get anxious and think about things like als, Parkinsons or even at the very least some injury that'll cause muscle atrophy. I'm sure it's fine though I'll get in for a massage and take it from there.

Do monthly deep tissue massage therapy.

I would go once a week for a month, then once a month after that. 99% of any issues you are getting will be gone.

Most of the time the simplest solution it the best one.

Best thing I ever did.

I have had intense muscle twitching for years.. Started in the area around my eyes, but progress to pretty much any muscle. I'd be sitting on the couch with no shirt and my wife would be like "wtf is wrong with your back" because it would twitch non stop.

Turned out to be linked to magnesium. I take 3 magnesium biglycinate capsules before bed and the twitching stopped.. I thikn it was made worse at times when I was dehydrated.

I get numb arms/shoulders/hands often.. Usually from the posiuting of my limbs and/or how I sleep.

I suggest talking to a chiropraxctor to see what they think about the numbness.

This is me to a T. Started with eye then back and on and on. I've been taking magnesium but switched to a cheaper form when I ran out. That could be part of the problem. For me I think stress is also a big triggering factor.

I had something like this once. It was my tongue though. Every time I went down on a chick my tongue would get tired after a bit and then would suddenly start vibrating at about 10,000 rpm like it had a mind of it's own. Often it would do that for over an hour , after a while it started happening at random times during the day and screwing up my life, headaches and muscle aches, so I had to go to physical therapy. Took years to get it under control when we found finally some meds that solved it. Huge relief.

On the upside my physical therapist was gorgeous and we fell in love and got married in short order.
Unfortunately soon after discovering the cure my wife must have had a midlife crisis or menopause or something because she suddenly became really bitchy and we split up. I don't know what her deal was but the timing sucked, who knows what women are thinking though.

Magnesiu did fuck all for me until I bought the byglyciante stuff and took it right bfore bed on an empty stomach.. start with 1 pill for a few days and if you get no bowel changes, move to 2 pils.. and try 3 if no stomach issues.

Hey @Jerbear - half the battle is getting past the worrying. Easy to say - hard to do but seriously for piece of mind see a doctor. They can check your reflexes and if the doc is decent can make an educated guess based on manual manipulation to find which nerve is the issue or what the problem is.
If the doctor doesn't know and sends you to a neurologist - don't freak out, he/she is just saying this isn't my specialty so it's best to have someone who can do the proper tests to determine what is going on. They might send you straight to an orthopedic surgeon - they are some of my favorite docs.
Do you have issues buttoning your shirt? Muscle spasms most definitely don't mean a serious disease like ALS, Parkinson's or MS. Those are the zebras they will chase once they eliminate the most likely suspects.
If you want to chat about it - sometimes it helps just to chat or vent, PM me. I'm not a doctor but have been through the same type of issues and went to three neurologists - finally ended up in Montreal at the neurological clinic and then to an infectious disease doc. Long story short - they still don't know what happened but I got better. It was stressful and it is perfectly understandable but the odds of you having one of those diseases is low.

Thanks man I really appreciate that. I've messaged you lots and I definitely won't hesitate to message you again in the future I enjoy our chats. Thanks to everyone as well I'm getting a lot of good answers here I think the main goal is just give it time and see how it goes.

I've dealt with muscle twitches for a long time and I think it's mostly minerals myself, play with your magnesium potassium salt and maybe reduce coffee that's helped me, as I sit here sipping the strongest coffee I can make.
The nerves and tingling in the hands can be a pain good luck, make sure to stretch a lot it can be something that simple sometimes.

Gondar if I had to guess the misses took off because you fixed your 10,000 RPM tongue she probably thought that selfish bastard!

I'm really big on magnesium and sodium but not so much potassium. I don't know a lot about it and don't supplement it. Do you? I don't take calcium either.

If your interested in trying supplmenint potassium, but some :"no salt" from your grocery store.. IT's pure potassium.. I put 1/4 teaspoon in a glass of water after a hard work out. Not sure if it helps or not lol.. I can't find evidence in myself that shows its doing anything..

Amazon product ASIN B07H1LH8CG
I use lots of salt... Since I'm bascialyl a keto diet person I get very little salt from my diet.. So I add salt to my 2 cups of coffee a day (a lot of salt), I'll salt my meat and eggs a bit..

Another thing that I think might have helped my twithed was getting on a script for T4. I can't recall what the thyroid and twitching had in common, but there is something.. I just cant; remmember.

Thyroid hormone is required to energize muscle fibers, and counter intuitively a muscle is only relaxed in it's energized state.
An old test for hypothyroidism was the Achilles's reflex relaxation test, measuring how long it would take for a muscle to return to it's relaxed state.

Edit: by energized I mean ATP replete.
