Donate blood dumbasses

I just donated last Wed. It's amazing how good you feel after when you're on. I probably donate 5 or 6 times a year.

Just answer no to all those questions. There are a couple I have to say no to that are otherwise, but it's for the greater good. They screen your blood anyway so if something is off you'll be notified.

They like our blood, its chalked full of all the good stuff

Interesting to hear you gents saying you feel much better physically after donating.

Just found this information online:

“The average adult has about 10 pints of blood in his body. Roughly 1 pint is given during a donation. A healthy donor may donate red blood cells every 56 days, or double red cells every 112 days.”

So I assume your able to donate here in Canada every 56 days?

yes 56 days is the minimum between bookings

I donated last summer in bc. I didn't get the option either. Can't believe they stick a 16g in you. I was sitting there just pale and nauseous as some old woman was calling me a pussy just with the look she gave me haha
Ha. That thing is as big as a juice box straw.

One of their nurses mentioned the donation also expends about 800 calories, so I eat about eight packs of their free Oreos afterwards.

It's not even after, it's the moment they stick in the pin. You can feel the pressure drop like air let out of a car tire. It's such a good feeling when your BP is up there on cycle.

They used to check BP and would turn you away if you were too high or low, but they stopped this step around a year ago, I'm not sure why and I didnt ask. I would take cialis and drink blended celery juice before I went in to bring it down a bit as I almost got turned away when I ran EQ the one time. Its nice not to have to worry about that anymore.

56 days is their min. I go around every 2 months, and i clean them out of Oreos and Mango juice after ;)

They would t let me sit there and eat. So I ate in my truck, lol.

There was a new guy beside me, so he asked the nurse to take his pic so he could post it.
About 2 minutes in, I look over and see the beads of sweet on his nose, the nurse was finishing me off, I left her know
the guy was about to pass out.
I was amused, after he was likely bragging about his cool he is donating, now grey and losing his shit, bwahaaa.

It’s never bothered me. I like to watch.

When I followed a vet around one summer (was going to be a vet originally) I saw a lot of operations, and after the first one, I was ok.

Whenever I get stitches, I just set my hand on my lap and tell them not to worry, I like to watch, lol.
Oh and if it’s less than 4 stitches, don’t bother with the freezing either. Hurts more to get the freezing than 3 stiches, lol.

I always think to donate the max amount, but people have also had their hemocrit increase because their body compensates because the donate too much.

I’m thinking 3 times a year would likely be perfect. I used to do 2 before covid and I never got high hemocrit sides then.

I donated, told them I was on TRT prescription using a needle.. they willingly took my blood and told me it would be high in what someone who needs donatation would need.

Im the same way. I saw the color of the needle and im thinking I never saw that one before..lol.. I just look the other
When I was in the hospital a few years back I remember the nurse would come in every 4 to 6 hrs say and take blood in a little kinda test vial. Would that of been a 16 g needle ya think they use ? or do they use smaller ones for the little test vials . The nurse would always take two samples to check . She would almost like unclip the one vial with one hand and snap in the other vial with the same hand... I was worried she was gonna rip my veins out the whole time . I've never donated before but am going to .

I just say no. I’m not a junky sharing needles. I think that’s likely more the issue.

By the time they split our blood and add it to a bunch of others, I don’t think the gear would be an issue.
Mind you I won’t donate for a week if I’ve taken an Ai or cialis/viagra. Just in case. And wouldn’t donate on orals, why, well just because.

Mind you I always chuckle at the, have you had sex with a man question,
"Have you had sex with a man - yes/no"
"Have you had sex with a man in Europe - yes/no"
"Even once? Yes/no"

LMFAO is it just my clinic that does that last, even once? 😂😂😂
