I think I'm done with the UFC

I'm a fan of MMA and always rode the UFC's nuts but after this shit show that just went down I don't know if I can continue. The biggest thing for me was the screw job to the fans that were flying into Vegas and had booked hotels, a lot of people were out a lot of money and I'm not OK with that. To top it all off I'm to believe Jon Jones is still pissing hot for a microdose of Tbol 18 months after the fact?

Totally agree.

I also know first hand, fighters are told to stop wrestling and grappling as the fans only want to see KOs. UFC is not mma.

Both Bellator and One FC are closer representations to true mma.

I was done with UFC when they put in timed rounds, weight categories and all the rules. The first few competitions when it was owned by the Gracie's was some exciting stuff, at least for those who know anything about martial arts.

You know I loves me some drug testing controversy, I wanted to post hear about this whole crazy mess since it started but there is just waaaaay to much that has happened, so many different angles and attached atrocities that I wouldn't even know where to begin. I will try to offer up a few quick points of opinion.

Biggest clusterfuck shitshow in UFC ever.
Having A metabolite hang around for a looooong time is certainly possible.
No one has ever proved or even disproved anything solid about the lifespan or detectability of this M3 metabolite.
The amount of deception and disrespect shown to our intelligence by the UFC and related shills is disgusting.
The rules say if you have any of the listed items items in your body you are not eligible to be licensed and therefore can't fight.
"They" decided to break "their" own rules but a more proper procedure would have been to amend the rules for some special circumstances and apply the new rules in the future. ie Jones should not have been allowed to fight this time as his condition violates the rules, change them for the future with a "previously ingested, still present but not offering an advantage" amendment.
Jones is a sociopath.
As always, this is all about money. Money does not usually mix well with the ideals of sports purists.

imo Chael has had the best short summaries if anyone wants to catch up -

If anybody has any short specific questions I would be happy to cut straight through the shit and share what I know or my opinion

JJ can say what he wants but his tests and what he has been popped for is no coincidence. Also for an innocent guy with no answers what do you have to offer USADA as cooperation?
He was caught for Letrozole and Clomid which he blamed on a tainted Cialis. Alot of us know what those are used for.
He then pisses hot for Turinabol which he says could have been used to cut cocaine he purchased after his supplements came back clean.
He took a PCT AI and gets popped for a PED down the road....
This metabolite thing is very whack. Oral Tbol shouldn't last 17+ months or as they are saying now possibly forever in your system. Then we hear from the UFC that it is "pulsing".
The Golden Snitch just said on a JRE podcast that the metabolite was present in his Aug and Sept tests. This info wasn't provided to the Cali State Athletic Co.
Scientists don't want to comment on the matter including Tim Sobolevsky who has the the most recent published science on oral Turinabol done in 2011, with another scientist Grigory Rodchenkov. The study estimates that the detection window of the M3 metabolite is 40 to 50 days. He won't comment on the matter.

The breaking their own rules is the most troubling for me...if you are going to start playing those games just start down playing the whole Drug Testing like the NFL. OR don't and that will be in Bellator and One FC's favour in the long run.

Agreed, quite unsavory.

I’m not against the drug testing but for God’s sake USADA should raise the bar. Some of the shit these guys get popped for is ridiculous.

I didn't re-read the thread and for that I apologize if I am being redundant. I just caught it as I was going to post something.
I haven't followed the UFC since 2000 or so but have been involved in MMA since then. MMA is a great way to train and a great way for folks who are not afraid of contact to train in the Martial Arts. I still see the main problem being is it is a sport and with that we have all the hassles with the governing bodies ( I think there are a couple?) and drug testing. Stop the testing. These folk are pros and should be able to utilize whatever methods they wish to perform at a high level.
I fought guys on gear back in the day and it didn't really matter. It helps the training, but not the technique.

So hi test and Halo made no difference fight day?A few pain killers for good measure

I have a limited experience as we only suspected these guys were on gear and there weren't too many of them. One thing it may have helped them with is the explosion needed in the old tourney stuff to blast off the line to score a quick point. maybe it helped stay fresh as the day wore on and you stood around doing nothing.
I started using gear after I got out of teaching and I haven't noticed it has improved my Martial Arts. Mind you I was past 50 when I first did a cycle other than upping my TRT dose.

I have sparred many juiced up guys...for the most part the big muscles tire very quickly but there were two i remember that were inhumanly strong and had good technique so pound for pound were hard to handle.

I think it is more of an advantage in grappling than striking.
