Anyone ever get an infection?

Damn man, you're true to your screen name, absolute animal. Was that from IM or subq?

IM..

It's quite a story, but stuff was home brew made by some dbag in the states who ended up scamming guys off a board for over 25k... It was just brew..

This reminded me of our retired vet. I asked him how do they clean the area before giving the dat an injection.

He saud they don’t and that he take insulin and sometimes even injects thru his clothes, no swab either. Said he has never had in issue.

I was still thinking, wtf?

I don’t use alcohol either, but I pin right out of the shower.

I haven't swabbed since my first cycle..

Chances of infection are far less with sub q shots than IM. Subq is generally not an overly hospitable environment...kinda sorta..

Even still, infections....true infections are pretty hard to get. But they do happen...and can happen no matter how careful one is. Posted once before already tonight. Moreso self inflicted....rather than dirty gear. Dirty gear would be pretty widespread and guyscwould be coming out of the woodwork if there was a truly tainted batch of product.

Infections are always a numbers game.... the microbe/ virus or whatever must be present, and must be given a hospitable environment where it can grow exponentially without our immune systems getting to them before they are colonized (bacteria) or cell tapped and replicating like a MF ( virus)

Bacteria being most common, viral probably next then probably fungal (not likely)

Ps - replicating like a MF is obviously a clinical/ technical term! Lol
Yea I'd never consider doing this IM. Sub q the risks are minimal but I wouldn't recommend anyone do it. The proper way is to clean the area and vial everytime.

One time, I got both triceps infected.. I waited as long as I could to go into the hospital, but it happened so fast that it really only took a 2-3 for it to be obvious I was in bad shape. I couldn't bend either arm and I felt fluish...

Went in, waited like 3 hours in ER.. Told Doc what happened and she said I had to be admitted for IV of antibiotics and obeservation.. told her "I know you can give me pills and send me home. If you won't give me the pills and tell me I need to be admitted over night, I'll just leave.. give me the pills and I promise if it doesn't clear up right away, I'll come back".. She gave pills..

I went to work that night as a bouncer.. hurt like hell anytime I needed to move arms.. After a couple days I was like 95% better
The problem is if they can give you an antibiotic that is as good orally as it is IV, most reach for levofloxacin (used to be called Levaquin) which is an amazing antibiotic for most of the population but it is a fluoroquinolone and anyone who lifts heavy weights or does any repetitive taxing exercise is taking a big risk of tendon rupture or worse. I know too many people who took a basic fluoroquinolone line Cipro and years later are still dealing with the lingering affects. I took one once and stopped training but even walking up and down the stairs made my Achilles tendons sore.

Do you recall what she gave you. If you were working as a bouncer, chances are they could tell you lifted weights but still dole out these medications like candy.
On my medical file - it states will not fluoroquinolones unless they are the only antibiotic that will work.
I'm glad it cleared up for you. Do you think it was just a little mistake hygiene wise or was it the compound at the time?

I was 100% honest with the reason both triceps were infected.. They were red, very swollen and hot to the touch lol.. They knew i lifted as per reasons why i ended up there lol..

It was about 20 years ago.. I don't recall what it was they gave me.. I believe it was a few pills a day for a few weeks.. I partially tore my achilles tendon once, but that was before this happened.. Aside from that, I get tendonitis occasionally now, but that's pretty standard for what I do and my age I think.

It was how it was made without a doubt.. It was dirty.. If I came across a vile that had stuff in it that looked like the stuff he gave me back then, I'd toss it without a second thought.. I was an absolute idiot for even using it and to be honest, I was lucky that was all that happened to me. This incident and the fact the guy stole 25k from people and was part of the biggest scams on bbing forums at the time was something else lol.. I'll pm you some info lol

Thank-you everyone, this makes me feel a lot better about keeping up my experiment. Appreciate all the feedback!
