Buying a side of beef?

Anyone have thoughts on cost effectiveness of purchasing buying a side of beef rather than buying in stores. I have a large family and keeping them in good meat gets expensive as hell. And with the boys getting older they are only going to eat more.

Anyone in southern Ontario have a suggestion as to who or where to buy?

Out here in Alberta it might not save you much. But my god is it good beef. If your in Ontario im sure @Sorbate can point you in the right direction

That’s kind of what I’m looking for maybe not cost savings over shitty Wally World meat but quality meat for a decent price. I guess I should have worded my original post a little better!

Wallmart is not cheap.

Not many buy sides anymore because there are too many parts no one uses anymore.
Most buy meat packages

There are a lot of guys over the years off of here that have bought from me. I give a better discount if you pay cash, lol. If you want I'll sned you my phone number and you can text me and we can talk.

So you’re saying I don’t need to be “beating your meat” haha will do sir

Farmer Lee in Orono. Grass fed corn finished. I used to buy quarters from him but I don’t eat enough ground and stew.

Seems freezer packs are all the rage over here I'm AB. If you know a good butcher they turn out to be quite affordable and excellent quality.

We used to buy a side every year for years, beef 5/6 days a week. But get this, are you ready,,,,, I’ve lost the taste for steak!! o_O

I’m just going to off myself now:cry:

When I’d buy a 1/4
my son would say “what’s for dinner ?”
I’d say “steak”
My son “again”

Poor kid. 🤦‍♂️

Sir I believe it’s time to turn in your man card! Membership has been suspended for now until senses have returned to you!

We buy a 1/16 direct from a local farmer as needed (it's just the wife and I) - great quality at a fair price. We even get a few bones and such tossed in for the dog.
