I think people have to keep in mind the percentage of people who transition and it dramatically changes their life for the positive. They don't have click-bate stories highlighting them as they wouldn't enrage the close-minded right. As others have stated there is a shit load leading up to a surgery like this, these surgeries aren't a walk-in situation. Was a mistake made? I guess so, but the person who got the surgery is very much responsible for it. I've made bad choices when I was young, but most, if not all are spur of the moment. Nothing that lasted 4 years.

To be honest I fall into that trap. I'm constantly on the wrong end of a heated argument about lgbtq or trans topics. I almost need to back out and shut up just so people don't think I'm a homophobe. I'm only worried about specifically my rights to teach, raise and protect my children and stop them from permanently mutilating themselves because it's the trendy thing to do. If my child walks talks and acts like the opposite sex and carry it on for years and years and years I will support them 100%.

My wife was telling me about it when she would go. I thought maybe she was stretching things, but nope. I got to listen first hand.

In my 15 years of working with kids, I;ve worked with every type of kid from every type of family.. and I'll tell you with 100% confidence that when you see a kid with any type of mental health issue they come from a messed up place/trauma about 95% of the time. I've worked with kids for so long I am starting to see the kids I worked with have kids.. you see the cycle of trauma handed down by parents..

And sadly, adults with trauma/mental health issues tend to have a lot of kids themselves compared to adults without issues.


Either way, I can confidently say that the kids I worked with that truly are homosexual didn't have a correlation with a messed up homelife/trauma.. Some did, but in general kids who were actually gay generally came from the same type of family that the kids you and I would call "normal" came from.. You'd also see a really good "normal" family have 3 kids and 1 would be legit homosexual and the other 2 just regular old kids.

All that being said, yes vast majoirty of kids I worked with who had issues really didn't come from great places.

Kids brains are so friggin malleable that its actually very scary. It doesn't take much to have a normally developing brain go sideways into a brain that has a disorder that can be quite often permnant. These brains are more likely to take risks, do drugs, drink, have unprotected sex etc.. It's just an awful circle..

It's nice when I bump into former kids I worked with and see some have actually improved and figured out how to make it through life successfully.

Good points man. I think the law has changed in Ireland though and yea I just worry about our children's future. I've said before I probably don't need to worry I'm happy with however my kids turn out I think I just get carried away worrying watching all this shit going on it the world

Wow that's really interesting and makes a lot of sense. I never want to sound like a homophobe or trans phobe but I always wondered if any of it could be trauma or upbringing related. I guess you would see in your line and you haven't yet.
