Oldguyjuijitsu and Sorbates Road to 80

@Oldguyjiujitsu I finally got my shit together and for almost 2 week have been on a pretty strict diet.

Today was particularly bad, I got so hungry at around 12:30 I couldn’t formulate thought, lol.
Thank god about 30 minutes later my body decided to burn some fat so I started to feel better.

I just plain feel like crap, I have a tiny headache from lack of food, my guts feel horrible, but I will keep going.

I can almost see an ab now, lol

Slow and steady my friend we got four months.

My training has been good but i just keep going from one tweek to the next. My shoulder was pissy, it finally started feeling good then my right elbow got pissed off, that was almost better and now my right knee is angry.

I have been working with a trainer for lower body sessions...he has been analyzing my squat technique and making some slight adjustments so my SI joint (hip) does not go bad again.

Ahh the joys of getting older and not being juiced to the tits. BUT i still have never missed a workout or jiu jitsu session. Just modify, lighten up certain things and keep trucking.

SOOOO if you tummy hurts...just keep going. bwahahahaha. What is that country song "if your going through hell, keep on going, don't look back, keep on going before the devil even know your there"

I know exactly what song you are talking about.

My shoulder was bother me as well, same with a tendon in my forearm, and I do not know if its coincidence or not, but now a month into the CJC/IPAM and all my nagging tendon injuries are gone. I can even bench pain free.

The only thing I hate about it is I have constant lower back tightness, almost like back pumps and I'm only using 80 mcg of each every day. I was thinking of doing eod to get rid of this. Or dropping to 60 mcg a day.

Generic gh (all brands I tried) used to do this bad to me, 1 iu a day and I could barely bend over to pick up the throw pillows in the morning when I was making the bed.

Must be a thing for me and extra gh.

I am getting excited about this cut. I am going to actually stick with it this time.

I am only in a rush because I go to visit my family in Edmonton second week in July. I want to go down ripped and looking big to make my dad and brother feel bad, lol. Actually both of them constantly tell me that my weight lifting is bad for me and I am going to hurt myself, or have health issues or some crap like that because I'm getting older. I want fanning in my obliques, so something around 8%.

Even my mom makes comments about how being big is not healthy and so on. Honestly I am not big. Bigger than the average dude, but nothing like a bunch of guys on here, nothing like guys who compete in the higher levels. I am not even close to that. Just doing good for an almost 52 year old dude.

Or I have a case of body dismorphia, lol.

Yes i need to restart the cjc/ipamorelin, was going to wait to june

I am not big anymore. I get told i look very athletic but your right waaay better than most 51.

190-195 for jiu jitsu i feel strong and fast and got good cardio. Over 200 i feel strong but everything else goes to shit.

I am not big either.

Remember dudes who read this, I am 5’6”

Still on my way to getting lean, I think I will have to be 173 lbs (hoping for 8% bodyfat). Damn I was far fatter than I thought I was.

But I started the weight loss right after Christmas, and I was peeking at 197 at night.

Last night I was 183.

In the morning 180 lbs. Last week was 181.5 in the morning, so I am getting my 1 lb a week goal.

I feel weak and small.

I was also busy this week doing maintenance work around the house, so I only lifted weights 2 times last weeek, but still did my cardio every day.

I was only running 175 mg a week of test.

But this week I bumped it up.

400 mg test
500 mg of primo

A week.

Hoping it will help me burn off instead of stalling, ramp up my metabolism.

Today though I was bad and ate whole chocolate bar, and my arms pumped up, lol.

I am not sure if I have more muscle now or not, those 2 almost 3 years my gut was fucked up, I know I lost some muscle mass.
But I will be leaner than in the top pic for sure.

Anyhow once I hit my weight goal, figured I’d keep my diet really clean, lots of chicken and rice or chicken and ground beef and hammer the weights on a bit of a surplus paying attention not to get fat and be lean and large (for me) this summer.

Lean 175 at 5’6 is a good size. If your at 180-181 and plan to lose 1lb per week. That is very doable

You might hold a bit of water with the 400mg test though so don’t be surprised if your weight plateaus for a bit.

Yeah, I’ve been toss up between 250 test and 400. Either way it 1 cc depending on the concentration. I have both, so I could use either.

Ok @Oldguyjiujitsu, I have been training my legs now since January consistantly, I never skip leg day, and if I take too many days off I start my training with legs.

My fucking calves just don’t want to grow, but getting some good thigh growth, 3” since then, I can high trap, feet shoulder width squat 255 now for 12. Going for 300. The way I squat is the one that is the hardest way, I try to keep my body fairly upright, just bend over enough to keep balance. I find my knees like this spot.

Anyhow here is a pic
190 lbs

still a bit fatty, maybe should have flexed my abs better, lol

I will be more careful about my diet for the next month before I go to Cabo at the end of August for my wifes 60th birthday. She wanted to do something for this birthday. Kinda joked to me about going while having drinks one day, then mentioned it again, and I said, well lets book it then.
Anyhow she’s pretty excited. I love the heat, I’ll be fine. My grandson may die though, lol.

I think maybe less beer and I gotta quit getting up at 1 am or so and eating 2 icecream popcycles. My damn wife keeps buying them from Costco for the kids. The Oreo one and Kit Kat one. So I gotta eat one of each, lol.

Looking good man, I had a wicked set of calfs typical heavy guy big calfs until I ruptured my right Achilles tendon now it doesn't have that ball sack look like I lost the short side if that makes sense.

Skipping works them quite well if you want to add a bit of cardio.
I used to skip all the time when I was into kick boxing/martial arts. I did buy a rope (but gave it away)but damn I am 70 lbs heavier and 30 years older and it was not as easy I remember it being, lol. I kept hitting my toes. (Yes always skipped without shoes on).

Maybe I should buy another leather rope.

Here is my quick update....literally just snapped a few pics while just working out

@Sorbate looking good my friend...glad you are doing legs...nothing looks worse than big upper and small lower. You do look thick.

For me, Turned 52 in July; bodyweight the exact same as last year 190lbs. Maintained this year, no significant growth but at least no decline LOL. Never exceeded 100mg per week TRT dosage this year plus some peptides. Simple just never really had an interest as i spent most of the year focusing on Jiu Jitsu and rebuilding the club after Covid.

I never had calves until jiu jitsu...all those hours pushing off my toes in bare feet on the mats did the trick...So low weight, high reps i guess you would say.

Raise the incline when on treadmill to max you'll feel them burning up lol

Nothing wrong with just maintaining. Business needs to come first. If I was a fighter, I would focus more on flexibility, only need enough strength to keep the young guys in check, lol.

And before I used to look really silly becasue my legs were too small for my upper body. I still need more work on them to bring them up. On a side view they still are not thick enough, need more hamstrings.

I have been doing drop sets every workout, maybe that will help calves more?

Buy one, but skip with good shoes on to protect your feet. Skipping in bare feet contributed to the arthritis I have in my feet.

Hundred percent correct @Sorbate , you need enough strength so it’s not a disadvantage but that’s it. I work hard to maintain my mobility.

I really improved my hamstrings over Covid. Not having a hamstring curl machine was a blessing having to focus on RDLs, especially single leg dumbbelll RDL I really saw improvement.

I train calves at the end of legs, so they’re pretty exhausted and I only do sets of 25 to 30 reps

For me, be long and lean, thickness, especially in the arms is my weakness

Yeah, I love straight leg deadlifts. I want hamstrings that hang.

And having short arms, ok, a short everything makes it easier to look bulky.

I had a training partner like 25 years ago, taller like you, he would get pissed that I looked thicker doing the same weights as him. At that time he kept trying to get me to use steroids so he could fill out, but I didn’t need it then plus I at the time I thought it was cheating and only losers used steroids, lol, and look what I am doing now 😂

Hey, great thread from you guys. I turned 52 this year, it's good to see your progress (y)

I've been on my own massive improvement journey since early 2022, although I suspect you guys were starting out at a much better place than me, health and fitness-wise. It's somehow both sad and encouraging that I've never been in better shape in my life, and threads like this are a great inspiration.

Cheers and keep posting, 💪

thanks and good for you.

Its important as we get into these years that we keep pushing to be the best version of ourselves. @Sorbate and I started this a few years ago when we were turning 50. Gave us something to motivate ourselves, have a little fun giving each other the gears and derail as much as we wanted.

Goal is not always to be the biggest jacked guy. I am a martial artist and want to be mobile, strong and athletic. I also like to look like i work out. Nothing better than my 20-30 year old students staying they want to look like me when they are 50.

I have a goal to get a little thicker and bigger arms would be nice. @Sorbate wants to be taller....we can all dream. Bwahahahahah

this is a great community to support each other in our fitness journey.
