You’re worth it. Yes, you.

It took me far too long to post this after I had read it. Effing stigma.
Not my words but could be so very easily.

Recovery is hands down the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I would technically say that I’m still in recovery, so it’s also the hardest thing I’m doing right now.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve been working on — for years now it seems — is shifting my mindset. It’s challenging because it’s something others can’t see, and it’s often really hard to measure.
This tends to leave me with a lot of doubt: Is this worth it? If no one’s cheering me on or supporting me through this, am I even worth it?
While you may be in a different “stage” of recovery, today I want to remind both you and myself that we are worth it. Today, I acknowledge your big and little wins, struggles and slip-ups. Today, I want you to know I’m in your corner, no matter what.
Let’s be each other’s cheering squad today and remind one another that we are worthy and deserving of recovery.
