Wish Beothuk well.

A huge heartfelt thanks to the members of this amazing community for all your positive vibes, prayers and well wishes!

I truly never realized the love here and reading this has immediately given me a jolt of energy and emotion all at the same time.

I’m slowly recovering from a serious infection brought on by appendicitis. My actually appendix hasn’t ruptured and I’ll get into more details as my condition improves, ie surgery etc as I’m finally able to focus today on my phone and concentrate without being in racks of pain and discomfort. It’s nothing too too serious and I’ll survive, but it definitely shook me.

Thanks once again everybody and I look forward to getting past this setback in my life and hopefully being back to good health again very soon!

A special thank you to my good friend @The_Night_King for his continued support and encouragement.

They will do it laparoscopically likely and the recovery is very quick. After a week, you can resume normal life, no lifting for 6 weeks.
It would be very similar to my colon resection.

Now I’m fucking insane, but I was back to work 6 hour days after a week. I just didn’t push it too hard, didn’t lift more than 40 lbs (they will recommend 6 lbs)
Mind you I also went back to work in 5 days after both my hernias.

It’s not that scary, you’ll be fine. They will put pantyhose on you to reduce the chance of blood clots, and if you were on a cycle, don’t opt out of the blood thinner shots (which burn like a mofo btw)

Just after the surgery, become mobile. Don’t just lay around, move around a bit to help promote blood flow to heal.

Oh and if you can’t pee after surgery, don’t freak, I guess that’s normal when you get surgery on your innards, lol.
They will give you cialis to help the sphincter muscle relax, plus its fun getting a boner with a catheter tube in. It’s like your dick is eating the tube, lol.

Good luck, I’m glad it was’t too serious. Well it’s serious, but could have been something way worse.

@Beothuk, I hope everything goes well and you can resume from where you left off a lot stronger.

I couldn’t urinate either after my groin hernia surgery as well but once I was told about the tube penetrating my dick hole, I miraculously was able to pee.

I tried, there was no way. So they jammed a catheter in my wee, wee till I was done going, then pulled it out in hopes it would start to work.

No go, so they put it in again, took it out, still couldn’t go.
So eventually I got a bag.

Damn I was getting so much fluid intravenous I filled a bag every 4 hours, lol.

Never had any issues with my hernias. Just when I got the colon resection.

Oh god.... my dick shrivelled reading that.
I need another surgery on the opposite side. The surgery side broke too, I can feel it from the discomfort I get. But now I got back problems, this shit has to wait.

I have always wondered how sleeping through the night felt without any interruptions like getting up to pee. So I’ve been contemplating getting a catheter. Did you sleep a full 8 hours without interruptions? Does it drip in the bag gradually or do you get a flood one time when you have to go?

Thanks brother and I was definitely a little worried when after getting the CT scan the ER nurse practitioner said you have appendicitis with a small tumour and the surgeon will be down to see you ASAP.
Jesus I initially thought it was cancer because of the word tumour. Seven hours later when I finally saw the surgeon, I was told it was a mass, not tumour, of shit basically calcified in my appendix causing pain and infection.
Booked to see surgeon next week to determine a time for surgery.
Most likely it will be a conventional surgery not laparoscopy, as @Sorbate referred to because the mass, not tumour, Lol is too large.
Thanks everyone and god damn I’m shrinking LOL

Good stuff. Don't think about the shrinking, it's driving me nuts personally (very different reasons behind mine) but try to think about the glorious and quick gains that will be within your grasp when you are better!

Glad to hear you got a clear prognosis so you can get surgery, start your recover. Don't worry size comes back fast. Get well my NF brother.

Damn, it will be a longer recovery. 8 weeks no lifting becayse the incision will be bigger. No issues though, scars are cool, we will compare after you have yours.

Dont get worried about the surgery, they do this type of thing daily.
It was funny, my wife was really conserned, I wasn’t at all. I had it in my mind I was going to be out of the hospital and back to work in a week. Had to make sausage before we left to Cuba a week later. So 16 days after surgery I was swimming in the ocean, lol. You will be fine. I think that since we are more in tune with our bodies, we can judge better how hard to push to help heal. Best thing you can do is get moving the next day after surgery even if you are sore. Even little walks around the room, or just standing. Then sit down, stand. I believe the blood flow promotes healing.

Drop your gear down to trt to reduce the chance of blood clots. The longer you can be at trt the better, I was for a month before hand.
They will want you to stop all supplements a week beforehand, lIke fish oil and such.
If they don’t offer an ekg, ask for one, might as well get your heart checked out. Wish I did, but the surgeon looked at me and figured I was healthy enough.

And yeah, you’ll lose size. But better to be alive and smaller, lol.

Thank you sir! I certainly appreciate the advice and will follow accordingly.
First ever surgery and I’m actually looking forward to getting it out to begin feeling well again. My symptoms first started in Feb/Mar and didn’t present as typical appendicitis symptoms, consequently the delay in getting a diagnosis and progression of infection. Better if appendix had ruptured back then and this would have been long over, however it will be taken out soon hopefully with no worries of recurrent infection.

Ruptured appendix is no good, you can go sepsis.
If you get a reoccurrant infection you’ll be on IV antibiotics again, no big deal. They are ripping that part out anyways.

I’ve had 4 major surgeries.
Fell 20’ to a concrete floor, had to cut thru my skull to fix a cut vein creating brain hemoraging
Both hernias, left and right, about a decade apart.
Then finally my colon resection.

I really hope it’s the last, lol.
