I finally got a really good doctor.

He started me on 75 mcg T4 a couple months ago. My TSH is now 1.5, but he said "ideally I want you less than 1.0".. So he bumped my T4 to 100mcg today..

And my DHEA has been low for 5 years, but all my other doctors including a endocrinolosgst specialist has told me "DHEA is only a precursor to testosterone, so since your on TRT, there's no point giving you DHEA"... My current doctor said DHEA plays a HUGE role in many aspects of body function, hommrones and brain function..

So I am starting 100mg of DHEA today.

Same doctor also told me that there is no money in DHEA so that's part of the reason its not prescribed. He explained it better than that, but essentially he said there's no money in it compared to other prescriptions.

I'm very excited to use DHEA because of what I've read about it. The only issue is its going to be very hard to determine what effects are from the DHEA, because I'm T4 has been rasied, I am taking fat burners and hgh as well.

It's saturday.. The only thing I notice is a noticeably better mood. I am not lifting or working out in any way so I wouldn't be able to comment on anything in that regards.

Haha my endo said the same, I can’t remember my dhea levels but it was extremely low, I think it was a 2 And the normal was like 5-14

Endo didn’t even mentioned it until I asked, just read about it a week or two ago and got some

I noticed my hunger cravings are completely gone, only thing I’ve added was DHEA.

after a few months on daily DHEA, you'll notice effects like pliable skin, better sleeps, more positive mood... it takes a while, and your dosage has to be high enough for your bodyweight & metabolism...

good luck on your wellness journey!

I've deffinitely felt the improvement in my mood. Better sleeps is hard to tell as I use melatonin or a tiny bit of mary J. I do feel groggier when I wake up in the middle of the night to deal with a screaming kid. So I would say I am getting a deeper sleep.

My dose is 100mg a day which to my understanding is quite high, but its based on blood work and Im assuming my weight. My doctor said he wanted to get my DHEA level to 15.

I took it for a while, I didn't notice any difference. I took 90mg a day. I capped it myself, my goal was to make 100mg, but they came out averaging 90mg. I have done a lot of research on DHEA as well and according to the research its supposed to be really beneficial for you. I think i didn't notice anything because I didn't have anything that i need to get improvements from. Maybe when i get older i may notice some benefits from it, as far as right now it did nothing for me. I will be interested to see how you like it and if you notice a difference in the long run.

Just wondering did you do bloodwork before and we’re your levels low?

no i just read studies that say after the age of 34-35 your DHEA levels drop by 50% and supplementing with DHEA in mice has shown that they will live longer. I originally thought it may help my husband sleep as he has sleeping issues and it wasn't even for myself so I made him some caps at 200mg and he took it for a bit and felt it wasn't doing anything. However, i can't really say it doesn't work as both of us take more than just that and we have not been tested to show that either of us are definitely low in DHEA.

after one month of 100mg a day prescription DHEA I can say my moods and patience is much much better. I didn't notice increase in apetite. I can't comment on a better pump due to no gym.

I genuinely feel better though. It's a mental better feeling, not a physical feeling.

Just got my blood work back.. After taking 100mg of DHEA daily, my DHEA blood levels are 13. I was told in my prime years 18-25 (I'm 40 now), my DHEA levels would have been around 15.

My doctors goal was to get my around 15 with preciption DHEA.

He's very happy with me at 13 and said my prescription will stay at 100mg daily and I will take it forever.

It's tough to say exactly what I've felt because while taking this I have started a keto diet, lost 20lbs and ate better.

Either way it deffinitely had a positive effect on my moods, energy levels, sex life...

Just thought I'd give an update.

of topic but id like to nonwhere u guys get these good doctors that investigate all this stuff , and actually care about what ypu need i have absolutely zero luck in that department and if i dont go in there forcing what to check id never get it.

Some notes about prescription DHEA..

1) I have a very good medical plan, but I found out yesterday DHEA is NOT covered by my plan in anyway shape or form. We have a health spending account (if you know what that is) and its not even eligilbe thorugh that. I was told since DHEA has no DIN number (drug identification number), it can't be covered.. I told the lady on the phone "I scanned and sent you the prescription, a picture of the bottle AND a copy of my blood work ordered by my doctor which shows I am not longer producing that hormone".. She said it still must have a DIN #.. She also said it doesn't have a DIN number because there is something in the pill that has not been approved. I might have not worded that properly, but I think she said something in the script hasn't been approved so they can't give it a DIN number, but maybe in the future it will.

2) I just went to the gym 2 times since I been on DHEA because of the covid... I can tell you with 100% certainty that I now sweat like I used to when I was in my 20's in the gym. I don't know why, but I stopped sweating hard in the gym for many years.. Now, my shirt is drenched like it used to be.
