sleep / sleep times and mental health

There seems to be an epidemic of mental health issues in the world - anxiety and depression. From a guy who has insomnia issues from time to time, I concur I feel so much better when I am in bed before 12 and up early. Never suffered from either disease but just an overall feeling and more energy reserves.

Just an observation but worth the read.

I love sleeping twice a day. Nap at about 3 in the afternoon for an hour/ hour and a half, then I go to bed at 11 and wake at 6.
I have energy until, 11 pm this way.

My wife used to bug me about this, but I told her, you fall asleep on the couch at 9:30, while I’m working out, or fixing something till 11. So really what’s the difference.

I don’t get insominia that much but if I wake at 2 am, lay there for 20 minutes and can’t fall asleep, I go to the basement, drink a Pepsi and watch you tube (something boring like a space documentary) and then I fall asleep.

In the past when work would keep me up because I was running things thru my mind, organizing things, I would get up, write down what I was planning on doing, and I fall asleep quickly after that.

Space documentaries FTW

if you are under 28 and see this, please please prioritize your sleep! I'm a gamer and come from a very bad sleep household... its def a bad habit to have and affects every part of your human origin! I haven't slept before 1am in over years... and that's just from habit.

Once you become a 5-7am 'er with early sun exposure, cold shower and a early afternoon nap. You're productivity and mental health and brain chemistry actually changes. A ton of good longevity bio hacking data on changing your gene expression by incorporating a solidified wake and sleep schedule.

Hardest part is getting into the habits then its easy. Kind of like disciplined dieting
