Long term use of Anavar

Anyone know of any resources that talk about this?

If a women wanted to use Anavar to optimize testosterone, not go over the female upper normal limit. Does anyone have any idea of the dosage?

Welcome Blashy, what do you mean by "optimize testosterone"? ie what are you expecting or hoping to achieve? Let's make sure you are barking up the right tree here

Meaning HRT or TRT. No taking supraphysiological doses.

Something is amiss here, maybe just because we are speaking in a casual environment but with hormonal issues i think the terminology is very important. Especially wrt women. I am definitely not an expert in women's use so I hope I don't embarrass myself here but the reason I engaged you in this convo is the hope that we can keep any harm from coming to your female friend.

So with that disclaimer please take everything else following with a healthy dose of "as far as I know" and keep in my that I'm not trying to be condescending but I will speak bluntly.

HRT and TRT are by definition both Replacement Therapies. Var is not a naturally occurring substance in the body so it can't be considered to be replacing anything. Var is not Testosterone, it is not even directly derived from Test, it is a derivative of DHT. However, introducing Var to the system will trigger the feedback loops that affect Test production and if anything it will cause natural Test production to slow, so no fear whatsoever about ending up with supra levels of Test. I am aware that this is a very low dose we are discussing and female natural Test is also normally produce at a very low level (compared to men). I'm also aware that some like to argue that Var won't cause "HPTA shutdown" especially at low doses.

Regardless of if one believes that or not (I don't) none of this adds up to "optimizing Test", I submit that it would be more accurate to describe the effect as "creating hormonal chaos".

Now if I had to bet I'd lean towards thinking that none of what I just wrote is of to much concern to either of us because more likely what you really were getting at is that you would like to know the suggested dose that would keep her below the threshold level of Var that would get her into the chaos zone. If that assumption is correct my answer would be 5-10mg/day is the range I have heard from most but I'd recommend waiting for more replies or continuing to investigate for opinions from some more experienced with female use than myself. Perhaps moving the thread to or staring a new thread in the Anabolics for Her section would be prudent?

Hope you take that all as coming from a good place, pressed for time so please excuse the bluntness. Happy to discuss further anytime.

Very informative. Much appreciated. Yes you're right, it's not ideal for "replacement therapy". But it's on hand and the results are there. She's at 6mg per day now and it's gradually kicking in.

She did 10 and it was obvious this was certainly making her hormones go overboard. The results were impressive though.

Once she's out of anavar, she wants to use a gel... I'm also looking at women dosages for gels for TRT purposes. Seems a 50mg pouch for men divided into 5mg doses would be a good start. Hopefully she finds a doctor to do all this, but it's not easy finding one.

There are a few labs out there who do "lady sized" var which is dosed at 5mg. Fuck trying to split a 50mg pill up.

I ran an UG lab Var back then, 20mg capsules not tabs. BD var was 10mg, when I did my first cycle, Glenn told me to start with 5mg and build up accordingly. That's exactly what I did.

Hey Blashy.
As a female who produces no natural testosterone, I can tell you that Var (up to 20) had minuscule effect on my blood work for Test. Like we're talking I went from 0.00001 to 0.000015. (Pulling the numbers out of my ass cause I don't have them with me. Likely closer to 0.001/0.0015 lol)
Now, combine TRT with Var ... I can get great results from 5mg. And we can see elevated (slightly) test results when I'm on both.

Gondar really hit the nail on the head with his response.

If you know, and she knows, that 10 is too much, keep her around the 5-6mg dose.

Have her see a Bioidential Hormone Replacement Therapist. I don't know if you have a True Balance there, but that's who I see. Stay away from any Ascentia Wellness as they overprescribe and overcharge and are total shit.
They usually will start women on a test cream and many nowadays will not prescribe injection. I switched from the cream to injection and my voice changed ... its slightly raspy now and sounds like I've always got a scratch in my throat, voice is slightly deeper. That would depend on her individual response to androgens though. But, she'll have someone monitoring her blood tests, hormones, etc. Obviously can't get the Var through them, but mine know I take ... "unprescribed prescription and extracurricular substances" so they are also aware when we review blood results when certain things are higher. They'll (a BHRT specialist) be her best bet for any hormone related stuff.
