Is ED common on TRT?

As the title states, is ED as common as it seems on trt, or is this a matter of only the people with problems post about it so that's what I see? I've been on TRT for about 1.5 months, and while I feel way better than I did previously, I worry I'm either placeboing myself into feeling better, or it's not going to last and by then I'll have shut down whatever production I had left and that will be it.

Sounds like you've been reading my posts lol. I think I'm in the minority to be honest. Most guys seem to be able to find their 18yrs old libidos it seems. You can always come off with PCT and likely get back to your natural levels.

Normally on trt I get better erections.
My sex Drive is better on more gear, but getting wood is more difficult.

If you have access to hcg, try taking 500 iu twice a week and see if that helps.
I read somewhere that replacing test doesn’t always work, that you still need the stimulation you would get from lh/fsh in order to get proper labido.
I know it has worked for me. But my sex drive used to so far surpass my wife’s, that when it mellowed it was a better thing. I got less frustrated, lol

Have you done bloodwork? ED can be an issue if E2 too high or low. Basically any imbalance in your natural t/e ratio can cause issues.

You have only been on TRT for 6 weeks. Its only now that you are stable at this dosage. You willl need to make small adjustments, wait 5-6 weeks, get bloods and adjust again. Do this until you find your dial-in dosage

What is you current dosage? Do you take an ai? What is your age? Your approximate body fat?

I dropped down to 125/week a couple of weeks ago and both my libido and wood are both better now.
Running high amounts become a balance game, especially if running 19nors. The less you take, the easier to balance

I dont actually have ED at this point. I just keep running into posts here and on TRT groups on FB where people are talking about it and started getting in my head about causing problems. I never had issues getting hard before TRT, just never had any drive to have sex. Or drive to do much other than work, lift and sleep. That's definitely getting better though.

Currently on 120mg/week split into 2 doses. No AI. .5mg of caber a week because my prolactin was high, that keeps it super low. Been on that for about 1.5 years. I'm 31, probably 15% BF. I havent run a cycle before, considering a mild test only cycle (~400mg/week) after my next bloods in 3 weeks. Will find out e2 when that blood work is done

ED is a common thing for people after 45. I do not believe it’s in any way specific to TRT. (That said There is a transitory element related to hormone balances but should not be an issue if you’re dialled in on your Trt).

ED More likely has to do with artery health, meds, stress and mental health.

Some people don’t have a high sex drive. I’ve had a couple friends like that over the years. It’s nothing you should stress yourself over, maybe it’s just the way you are.

I had one buddy who had a girlfriend that seriously wanted to bang him daily. She would walk out in skimpy underware and so on. He told me he really didn’t care, would sometimes have sex for her, but really didn’t have a sex drive.

we were all getting drunk at the bar one night, and she was mentioning this, about how she wanted it daily, kinda hitting on me. I was married by then, after I flirted for a while for fun to see if I could, I mentioned that we were too similar and likely hate each other if we were together, and kinda put an end to anything. She was like, yeah, likely wouldn’t be a good idea.

He was happy, nothing wrong. Eventually he married a girl with the same sex drive as him, so they do it likely once a month, maybe.

Well I am 62. I take 250mg of test e a week and about 150 of deca for joint issues. I was having some drive issues so I added an anti estrogen once every other day along with some cialis and boom ... morning wood, evening wood. My wife is enjoying it and so am I. Experimentation is the key... to find what works for you the best. I read, and see what works for others and I try what they have done and then I modify it to make it work for me. My whole life has been one big experiment and I would not change a thing if I had to do it over again.

It was definitely a change for me to not have a drive. When my wife and I met, it was daily, sometimes more, and for most our relationship we've been non monogamous so I've had girlfriends as well (that shes aware of and sometimes dates as well). So when I went from thinking about sex all the time, to going weeks without it, it was SUPER hard on our marriage. We're actually in counseling trying to fix some of the damage that was done.

Yeah, psychology is not my forte, soI cannot help with that.

What changed? You said that you had ED, but do not currently? Every time I alter my dosage/frequency it wreaks havoc on my libido. Well, it can often produce a lift, but then I have to adjust.

Do you use any type of AI? AI killed my libido, and as I'm on a low dose it can take weeks for things to re-balance. I fucking hate AIs. But, I would also like to bump up my dose by 20mg/wk, so I got some primo. Hoping that keeps the E2 in check.

No, my dick has always (or almost always) worked, I just lost all my drive. That was pre trt though, and now that I'm 6 months in I feel great. My dosage has ranged from 100mg to 120mg /week, with one blast at 400. Everything has worked great during that time. High sex drive, no ed, lots of energy. This post was made when I first started and was worried about what i was getting into with TRT. I'm so glad I got on it though.

Glad to hear you are doing ok. I can say that me being on TRT at low doses of 125mgs/week my estrogens levels were high. So my Dr. put me on Arimidex. That helped me a bit. So try and get your estrogen levels checked. Also pick up some Cialis. A lot of guys take it now so dont feel bad. Pareto Cialis is probably the best I have tried so try some from them.

Why not just lower your dose and avoid the AI? Or, more frequent dosing? I've run the gambit on AI usage, and I'm determined to be nearly AI free. By nearly, I mean a small amount once every couple weeks at most. I'd rather reduce my dosage than mess around with an AI again. I find that AI use, when it can be avoided should as it affects far more than just E2. I have far better libido with my E2 a bit higher, but it's allowing your body to adjust and not ascribing to the belief that you need an AI just b/c your E2 is a bit high. Of course, some guys do need it, but most do not at such a dose. At 125mg I def need it, but I realize now that I need less than I thought I did.

The other issue with AI's is that many guys over use when what they are experiencing are normal hormonal fluctuations. It's all too easy to fall into that trap, and once you're there it becomes a vicious circle. I'm only learning myself how to roll with things, but my libido was always better the less I used an AI. It is also better if my dose is a little lower.

Why not try aromasin? Just use very very sparingly. Aromasin kills off the aromatase enzymes, which removes the estrogen attached as well, so it has the potential to be more effective at very low doses. But, b/c it eliminates enzymes extra care should be taken to avoid overuse. My endo was unfamiliar with aromasin, so I educated him. It's easier on lipids is the main selling point. Why would any doctor want to prescribe something that is hard on your liver? Many find that they require less aromasin over time. My thoughts on this is that one does not know how fast enzymes are replenished, which means one might be chipping away at their natural ability to balance b/c those enzymes are reduced. That leaves a natural imbalance of estrogen, lipids, shbg, and everything else that's associated.

As for cialis, fuck yes! Why not boost your performance? I took cialis before trt, and it was worth it. My GP used to give me sample packs of cialis and viagra, so much fun. I'd much rather go multiple times and have better stamina than not. I used it sparingly, but when I did I noticed a big improvement.
