I don’t know if it’s just me , but I’ve noticed lately that most of the trainers in the gyms now aren’t even in shape.
I recently moved to Edmonton and started going to a place called GYmvmt.
I know there are better gyms for bodybuilders but I love the steam room and that was the selling point for myself personally.
They have a bunch of trainers here , all of them are skinny and don’t look like they even train.
There’s one trainer though that blows me away. Girl is maybe 5’4
And easily my weight 240 lbs but not in a good way.
And this isn’t some new thing either , I go to gyms all over Canada for work sometimes and these trainers are in ridiculously bad shape in a lot of places.
Couple days ago I went to the swimmming pool , and there were four life guards on duty.
One was a geriatric the other three look like they just left a pie eating competition and I’m wondering how exactly they would drag my ass out of a pool if something happens .definitely they won’t be.
And the social media thing I won’t even get started on that .
I just remember growing up if you were into the gym or fitness or whatever, you fucking looked like it. Like people would look at you and know. Now days it can be your profession and you could look like that fat piece of shit we have for the minister of health in this country .
Anyways rant over

you can get a PT license online now in a few months just by reading a book. honestly as a wannabe powerlifter i’m a fat POS lol but have trained some friends to completely change their lives. i think PT for the average person is ok, but some reading online and you can do a PTs job easily in a lot of cases.

I took a PT course through a training centre that was really tough to pass. The sciences involved were a real challenge.

There was a bunch of folks could not pass the physical requirements. You had to be able to perform everything you demonstrate to perfection. It was 10 months long 4hr exam. Lots of drop outs. Some people had never exercised ever! WTF?

The best wrestling coach I’ve ever had in my life was a fat Russian man who smoked a pack a day, and was black out drunk most of the time. A quick look at the man, and you’d assume he couldn’t even tie his shoes without having a heart attack. But you got that old fucker on the mat, and you were cooked every single time.

I’ll agree that most of these PTs look like they’ve never touched a weight in their life, but I don’t think being out of shape indicates a lack of knowledge on average. It’s more the startling lack of discipline present in— every facet of today’s society IMO.

russians are just built differently lmao. combat sports are different i think its the ones who dont look like it are the fuck around and find out ones

I wonder if out of shape people feel better training with a PT that isn’t in perfect shape?

Could just be a “know your clientele” kinda thing.
