Erection problems

I have a topic but I’m not sure if this is the right section , If not please remove it. As I’ve stated before I’m prescribed 100mg of delatestryl per week and I still seem to have some erection issues, It is better than before but still not where I would like it to be I get really firm sometimes and it’s great but other times it’s not there doing it’s job, I was recommended 5mg cialis daily and it did help a little , But having the TRT shouldn’t I be having a much better erection ? There is nothing mentally at play bothering me and I find my wife incredibly attractive, I find the cialis is very expensive it’s a funny thing my medical covers the TRT but doesn’t cover any erection medication which in my opinion is a direct relationship in treating the issues. I take nutritional supplements and a men’s vitamin so I’m not sure what the issue cold be.

How long have you been on trt?
Also are you masterbating every day? That will kill your pecker pretty fast.
I’m only asking that because you may have found since you got on trt that you got a bit horney and sometimes it’s easier to go on Porn Hub then convince your wife to have sex, lol.

You may need your estrogen checked.

If you had access to a lab, which I’m assuming not, or you’d be getting cialis way cheaper there, you could add on mast to help.

Also if you just started trt, it will take a month for your blood to really stabilize.
I would mention this to your doctor as well and ask if you could get your test dose bumped up to 125 mg a week, because you want a better quality of life and are not seeing it on 100 mg. Or your estrogen can be high.

Blood work will tell, or help.

No believe it or not I actually do not masterbate, I’ve spoke to my primary care provider about an increase to my TRT and he said 100mg is the normal dose for a man to put them back within recommended range, I’ve asked for another round of blood work since I’ve been on TRT for 2 years and he said it’s unnecessary with his experience and with this dose he said he knows it will be in the proper range. Not I have no lab access I’m pretty new to this and by reading the rules and searching online you aren’t allowed to ask for that information.

Seriously? 2 years and you still have erectile issues and your doctor offered what, antidepressants and cialis?

And blood work is needed if you are not feeling right. How does he know it’s in the proper range for someone your age?
I guess every single human uses test at the exact same rate. Sometimes I wonder if these doctors even bother to try, or just want the fee?

This right here is why I self prescribe.

Yeah you are not allowed to ask.

Anyhow, this I’d going to sound weird, but it works. I find there is a sweet spot. If I masterbate let’s say 2 times a week, I want sex more and get a better erection during, but if I go overboard and do it every day, well I’m not going to get off while having real sex.

Maybe try sparking it a couple times a week, lol.

Seriously you got nothing to lose. Just don’t do It the say before you have sex. You are married, sex is on Monday’s, lol or something like that likely, bwahaaa.

In the future when you find a source, you take 1/2 pill of cialis the night before and about an hour before take a full pill of viagra. Even on deca I’ll get hard. Never get off, but I can pound for an hour, so she’s happy. And really it’s not like I don’t enjoy it, so whatever.

Unfortunately my doctor is very old I don’t believe he is up for changing his ways at this age and pint in his life , He is well past retirement age and said he will be retiring in 5 years, Who knows maybe the next doctor will be a little better for me, Atleast I did get TRT. I would like to go a little higher but he is not open to the idea so I try to self educate so I can have an informed conversation with him but even then it doesn’t seem to go well, So I’m at a place if I do the calculations and and take my dose up to 125mg then my prescription is a well or so short I will be questioned on that as my pharmacist said my vial is suppose to last me a total of 70 days.

You’ll need to wait till you get some UGL gear and add to your pharma test then.

If things don’t get a little better I’ll consider looking into that, I’m assuming looking online will give me information on that , And I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it tho, If I can come up with a good well thought out educated argument for my doctor maybe I can get him to consider changing my prescription, He does give me the sample boxes of cialis when he has them.

Ask your questions on this board. You now have a wealth of info at your fingertips.
Mind you not everyone is off on Monday’s like me, so you may have to wait till tonight for answers, lol.
There is a trt section.

First off IMO your doctor not doing bloodwork and saying he knows your in range is complete madness not to mention the many other things you need to monitor on TRT could be out of range namely estrogen in your case. In your intro you mentioned higher bodyfat, and higher bodyfat can contribute to higher estrogen and higher prolactin could also be a culprit.

Yes you are correct , That is why I mentioned that I wanted to lose weight and reduce body fat before touching PEDS , They say the first time you do it is the best and I don’t want to ruin it by not being prepared. I think I will mention this as part of my argument in my next visit that I should be checked for estrogen and prolactin. He writes my prescription for a year at a time.

Do you worry before intercourse you may not get an erection? If you are not confident it will happen, chances it won't.
Your brain controls so much. Just throwing it out there as performance anxiety, even if you are not stressed, can cause problems.

If I was you I would buy Viagra and pop a 100 mg pill, if you don't get so hard you cut a diamond it may be psychological which is nothing to be embarrassed about. It could be physical and it could be psychological or a combo of both.

Hope this gets sorted out for you.

No at this point I’m not worried before intercourse we have been married a long time and she is incredibly beautiful and understanding so that sort of thing doesn’t bother me, Just I expect it to be much better on TRT maybe I expect too much, I haven’t been sleeping well so I’m wondering if that would affect it , My Dr has me on morphine for pain 3 x daily , He also has me on a drug called Wellbutrin because I’ve had bouts of depression in the past but I’m over that now and he told me that drug doesn’t cause ED he said it makes you feel more energetic and it helps sex drive because you have more energy and are in an improved mood. The cialis does help but as I mentioned before I was shocked at the high cost of it. I’ve done some looking online for it but I don’t feel confident buying from a website as for quality and also afraid of being scammed and some of the products come from India . I did find some that has more in the package but is seems like you get more the the money but I don’t know if it crosses any rules to say the brand so if I decide to try it this will be a live and learn situation.

You may not know this buy opioid pain medications can cause a reduction in testosterone and drive/enjoyment in sex. Its one of the first things endocrinologists check. Considering you are on TRT, it should not have an impact on your test but it can definitely decrease your desire and pleasurable experience because it is meant to numb the body.
Look up opioid medication, testosterone and erections - lots of literature.

Good luck

Wow thanks for the information my doctor never mentioned that and I didn’t know that I really appreciate that information, I have some reading to do while in bed tonight. Maybe I’ll get some answers.

Opioids will effect your testosterone.

You need blood work from your doctor, these old doctors don't upgrade there education.

First things first; you need to publicly challenge your "doctor" to a contest of bare chested fisticuffs out on mainstreet - loser leaves town.
Also if their is a cute one of the popular girls that you have had your eye on for a while make sure she is there.

Sorry, I get carried away sometimes

I really think you need a new Dr though, you will when he retires so maybe consider right now may be a good time to work on it.

Seeing as I am in ramble mode and we are on a bodybuilding board I'll share the thing that Arnold said back in the old days that has stuck with me the most. I think it was in response to some kind of a secret to success type question.

Twas something along the lines of "Make a list of all the people who have a negative effect on your life. Don't talk to anyone on the list"

Lets see some blood work.
Full cbc
Thyroid
Estrogen
Testosterone
Free testosterone
Progesterone
Prolactin
B 12
Cortisol
Shbg
Alt
Egfr
Short list theres alot more.

Believe it or not everything on this list plus more is a check box to your penis. Start checkin them off and youll get your penis working again little by little.

Your on 100mg a week ? What were your labs how do we no thats even a replacement from what you were on? Naturally, i mean im guessing but 100mg prob wouldnt put you over 600 700 ng/dl and thats a guess , maybe thats not even puttimg you at 400ng/dl Need to see these labs and get you in range then your wenier will come to life.
Hows your blood pressure.? Whats your dystolic whats your bpm all this stuff adds up to your weiner power.

See this is where my frustration comes into play , As I said my Doctor is very old , I’ve never seen my bloodwork , I was told I had low testosterone, And he wrote me a prescription for Delatestryl and I brought it in and he showed me the proper amount to draw up and how to inject it . I was advised that it will be a life long thing and I would start to feel better in about 3 weeks, Then the depression came back but not as severe I was told it was my body reaction to the hormones being replaced and that it is just an adjustment period , So that being said he wrote me another prescription for Wellbutrin and gives me samples of cialis when he has it, I did call his office in the morning out of curiosity and asked for my bloodwork from when he started me on this dose and the receptionist told me he doesn’t give that out as he likes to explain these things to his patients because we don’t understand the medical terminology. I can’t get a new primary care provider due to the shortage in my area and even when mine retires I am to be placed on a wait list, This is one of the many reasons I’ve joined a place like this , I’m trying to educate myself enough to help take care of my own health in the short term until I can get adequate help. I don’t have private bloodwork clinics in my area so things are becoming quite frustrating as I do have some other medical conditions I’m working on that requires some pretty serious surgery and I want to be as strong and healthy as I can be going into it . Then I can really work on my health and fitness goals after my recovery is complete.

Canadian citizens have the right to see there bloodwork. He has to give you your blood work. Too my knowledge its against the law. Someone correct me if im wrong.

In BC we have MyEhealth and I have access to all my bloodwork. I’m sorry you have to deal with this and unfortunately when it comes to TRT your story is not all that unusual. We’ll do our best to help.
