Does anybody suffer from nightmares?

Damn, I am sorry but that was funny.
My wife was teasing me about running away from the little beetle.

As a note for the future demascus earth gets rid of ants fast. They do not like to cross it, so you have a spot they are coming in, put the powder there and problem solved. Plus its pretty much harmless.

Until you've seen them move and what they do, you can't fathom the carnage. Literally hundreds of thousands to a million all marching in a swath like 10 feet wide and as far as you can see. Killing absolutely everything in their path.

A lady there told us she welcomesthem into her home when they come. She just leaves her home and returns after dark. (They don't march at night apparently).

They kill any kind of creepy crawly that may be residing in her home. Everything.

The only problem is sometimes the circle an area for a few days in a row of the hunting is good. They were all around d our house while there for about three days.

Diatomaceous earth would probably work on these fuckers.....but you'd need a front end loader full or more....even then. The cunts build bridges using their own bodies and can cross fucking rivers lol.

Interesting animal....terrorizing as fuck though.

I watched the vid, thats crazy.

We have been having little ant issues for the last couple years because it was so rainy, I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed, and then this year I just puffed Damascus earth into the spots they were using to come in and no more in my house.

Thank god this year was a bit warmer and dryer so it cut their numbers down overall.

My wife hates ants, kept threatening to move becasue of them, but then even people in new houses were complaining of them so she realized that moving wasn’t going to cure the issue.

About 3 years ago, they had a line thru the garage from the front door to the can recycling bucket, guess they liked the sugar from the pop in the bucket. Grossed my wife out because she works out in the garage, there is a carpet on the floor for her to plank on. So I had to fix that fast, lol.

We have them some bad here this year. Little wee ones.

Seems to go in cycles. At least it's not those gross earwig fuckers.

I have completely hijacked big bears thread with my fear of insects.... lol...feels like old times! The hijacking...not the gross bugs.

Interesting thread.
I have suffered from horrible nightmares the majority of my life. It has scared most women I have been with over the years as most nights I wake up screaming or thrashing.

Many nights I just give up on sleeping as alot of times I re visit the nightmare as soon as I fall back asleep.

Many of my nightmares are reoccurring. It is interesting to see I am not alone.

I thought about this topic a lot the past few years, when I was younger I still got nightmares so I think it's normal, probably has to do with natural feelings of stress, anxiety or fear that everyone has.

But about 5-8 years ago, I started getting quite serious night terrors, oddly, my grandma had the same, and when they occurred it'd cause yelling/screaming while asleep.

I noticed there was a few things that triggered this, one was stress on kidneys and the other was low dopamine levels, that along with trauma/ptsd. After being prescribed ADHD medication, I noticed these night terrors subsided, so I am starting to think in my case it was an issue with low dopamine levels. Usually when I take large amounts of anti-estrogens, it results in night terrors and through some research I found that crashing estrogen leads to issues with dopamine signalling/sensitivity.

One thing I found to prevent this from occurring, when you wake up from a night terror, use a flashlight and shine it in both of your eyes for a few seconds (around 10 seconds in each eye, I just use my iPhone flashlight). It works 95% of the time.

Post #50, happy to say I've not read this thread. I hope y'all are working some stuff out and I wish you all well but my inner child is screaming "let sleeping dogs lie". It's a fine edge for me to even introduce the thoughts you guys may be having.

FWIW I never had HUGE problems with nightmares but I got a handle on my shit via lucid dreaming.

Sweet Dreams guys.

Ive had violent dreams for as long as i can remember. Probably still have 2 or 3 vivid violent dreams a week.
When the wife and I were still dating, She woke up with my hand around her neck and i was about to throw my fist in her face. She screamed and i woke up.

I'm like that too, a lot worse when I was younger but it's scary shit. You never what your going to do you could jump off a balcony or anything and have no clue.

Wow
How did you figure that out?

I had quite a crazy one 2 nights ago.
I was trapped in some house. There were demonic people outside who wanted to kill me and my woman. We kept going into different rooms. I found a kitchen knife. One that I actually used to own in real life and the point had broken off and I got rid of.

I had this knife. I went into the basement of the place where we were at in my dream. We got cornered in there basically. Then I saw my grandma who has recently died. She was sitting in a chair. She looked very ill like she did when I saw her last. She stood up, said my name. I didn't trust it was her and it her across the nose with the knife. Of course it started bleeding and I woke up. I felt horrible. This was around 2 am. I stayed up and just started my day. I felt guilty as if I had actually slashed my grandma.

These things are not fun to live with. I remeber a roommate of mine when I was younger saying to me " I am so glad I don't live in your mind when you sleep, the screams that come from your room are terrifying."

I've really never sought out any help for any of this but the majority of my life has been plaqued by night terrors. They seem to come in waves where it's all night every night for months...then I can go days or weeks without any. Fucking weird. The mind is so powerful.

I can’t remember actually, it might have been reading something to do with light and its affect on sleep.

But surprisingly it works, I always use the iPhone flashlight and just keep it on each of my eyes for around 10 sometimes 20-30 seconds to make sure.

I am usually so tired I fall right back asleep even after using the flashlight and it’s usually ends up with me sleeping without any dreams at all the rest of the night.

Perhaps it takes you out of REM deep sleep.

I know if I don’t do this, I go back to sleep with the exact same nightmare.
