Blood pressure

Why can't you take aspirin anymore?
I was dealing with pretty severe stomach pain and based on the symptoms it was most likely pancreatitis or a gallbladder issue. So, prior to blood tests I was told to cut out fat and I did and it got 'somewhat' better. It came back with a vengeance so I went back to the doc and 'they' (my GP and an internal medicine specialist) suspected an ulcer caused by H Pylori. I was given Tecta and within 36 hours, I was pain free. Told not to take NSAIDS hence the no aspirin.
I have to be off tecta for two weeks to take the H Pylori test and 4 days after I stopped, it came back so it confirmed it is most likely an ulcer.

My doc knows I look after myself and don't go to the doctor unless something is really bothering me so she takes me pretty seriously and ordered an ultrasound as well / referred me to an internal medicine specialist. I will have an abdominal ultrasound tomorrow and the H Pylori test should be back within 4-5 days (having it done today) so we can discuss the results of both tests next week.

Hope you heal up soon man, good luck with the results.

My mom dealt with H Pylori. It was originally diagnosed as a Hiatal Herina which she was prescribed medication for years. Moved to a new community hence new doctor, tested positive for H Pylori treated with correct meds and gone in days............

I hope you are able to address the issues you are having quickly and effectively. All the best.

I've recently started using a CPAP, and my BP has dropped considerably (from approx. 145/75 down to approx. 125/65). I had already been on 2 different meds for my BP, and thats as low as it seemed to get until I started using the CPAP.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, given a CPAP, and it has been a Godsend. My BP is down, my blood sugar is down, my sleep is much better, and my energy levels are much higher.

Never hurts to get tested for sleep apnea.
didnt know this and will look into it.

Noticed my BP has been going up a bit since increasing my TRT to 150. Increased Q10 to 400mg per day with 200 mg of ubiquinol a day and a shot of curcuject (50-100 mg EOD). It is lowering again. This is taken on my third cup of morning coffee.

What are you running for supps? Meds?
Don't want to answer for Jay but he is a friend in real life and he is still taking (or should be) 200 mg of Q10/200 mg of ubiquinol and 500-1000 mg of black seed oil twice a day. We are of similar age and I find the combo of q10/ubiquinol works better than 1 alone. Not sure if he started the fish oil - he can comment. Regardless, it is working for him.
He is not on BP meds or wasn't as of last week lol.

Ok I started to take the black seed oil again. I now take it after meals and have no gut issues anymore.
You know, to be honest, I thought you were full of shit, sorry. But I didn’t think it would work so well.
This is after maybe 2 weeks?
I dropped from a 127/80 average to this, I havnt been this low in a long time, not on the dia side anyways. And this is after a cup of coffee.

Anyhow I am working on the high heart rate, I’m thinking it’s from years of smoking, likely my lungs are not the best, so my heart needs to pump more to stay oxygenated, but I havnt smoked in 3 weeks, doing cardio, so we will get it down.

I feel great, actually so good I want to drink, smoke and party, lol. Yeh, lol.

Hi @Sorbate - I take my BP on my third cup of coffee. All my readings here are like that as I make coffee first thing and drink it before I eat or do anything. Just a habit and I love the stuff. Nigella Sativa is one of the only supplements/herbs that did as well in multiple studies for BP but like all supplements it isn't regulated. They can say 5000 mg of black seed oil when it is 100 and no one would ever know. I try to stick to the same brand name if it has good reviews and works. I can't say if black seed oil is as good as a prescription because I have never used BP meds.

You systolic and diastolic are excellent but if that is resting, even after a cup of coffee, your heart is working like way too hard all the time. I would be curious to see what it a heart monitor said when your doing squats or hard cardio. There was a guy I helped on another forum that had the same issue.....great BP but resting HR was 90 all the time. Mine use to be in the low 70's. The use of supplements and dietary changed brought it down into the high 40's without coffee and low to mid 50's after 3 cups of coffee.
I don't get by heart rate up enough because of my right knee (waiting for surgery). I can still get a decent heavy bag workout in or if it a lucky day - sex lol. Otherwise, short walks and that is it. Therefor, I have to attribute my low resting heart rate to Q10, ubiquinol, black seed oil and curcumin but I can't say that for certain.

Regardless, glad it is working for you. What brand are you taking?

I am taking everything except the Curcumin. 3 cups of coffee, I couldn’t do that I’d feel horrible, I get coffee induced hypoglycaemia if I drink more than 1/2 a cup. I’m vibrating on 1/2 a cup anyways.
The brand is Health Logics 500 mg twice a day

After my first coffee.

Anyhow my wife who does insane amounts of cardio has a heart rate like mine. I’m pretty sure it’s the years of smoking. I bet it will go down over time.
We are both high strung people as well
Squats I’ll hit 120 bpm, doing cardio, decent rate 120 bpm. Unless I’m jogging then it will really climb, but my cardio is shit right now. I walk on the highest incline at 4 mph. It’s getting easy, but since my legs are short, I’ll be jogging once I go faster than that. This week I’ll jog for part then walk for part.

So I purchased Heritage Store branded black seed oil. I noticed on the back that it says to inform your doc if taking a bp med. I am taking an ARB....... 1 tsp contains 5.4 grams. Start with one a day?

I am confused by the dosages provided in some of these products. That is 5400 mg in a teaspoon? I would get a 1/4 teaspoon or 1/2 and best to take twice a day. Start with 1/4 twice a day. Does the bottle tell how much to take?

I am guessing but most studies show a drop in BP by 10 points or more and the studies I read tend to be 1000 mg twice a day. I use life extensions pills because they come in 500 mg and take two a day unless my systolic goes over 120 then I will increase it to 1000-1500 a day. I used Enerex liquid before and it contain 2000 mg per 1/2 teaspoon so I had to use 1/2 teaspoons twice a day. If the goal is for BP, I would start out taking 500 mg twice a day for a week and if no change increase it to 1000 mg twice a day. Been up to 3000 mg a few times when I started GH and my BP spiked.

What is your BP on the ARB? I don't know about contradictions with BP meds so best to talk to a naturopath or your doctor. Talking to the average doctor will most likely result in looking at you like you have two heads. Most don't believe in it and are not trained in anyway to advise using natural remedies. Obviously, there are exceptions.

Anyway - long story short NS/Black seed oil does so much more than lower your BP. It isn't called the wonder herb for nothing. It is one of the few supplements I take year round now. If you look back at my BP readings over the past few years - my BP has never been bad but my resting HR went from the 70's to the high 40's without coffee and low to mid 50's with coffee. That is a staggering difference considering I haven't changed anything other than I started taking PED's again and lift weights hard / gained muscle and weight. Just TRT and periodically adding in Primo, low dose deca, or boldenone. I still don't do much cardio as I still haven't had knee surgery so other than most upper body work with the heavy bag/BOB and sex, I don't get near enough cardio. Unless PED's lower your RHR - the only logical conclusion is one of the supplements significantly reduced by BP. Keep in mind I fluctuate between 200-210 if I don't work out and since being on TRT and training again I have been up to 240 and sit at around 230 right now. Again - more muscle doesn't result in a lower RHR so again something I am taking is making a difference.

Long answer to a short question but read a couple studies @Grey Beard and you can see the dosages they are using.

Thanks for the reply Golden. I seem to be a high blood pressure person, not crazy high historically, but I did smoke for many years..... I only really have been tracking it since I started trt. Everything was pretty good when I started and I stoped taking regular measurments for sometime. Then last summer I noticed my bp was higher after an emergencey crew practice at work. It was a live fire training on a hot summer day, my bp was close to 180/90..... after 10 min I only recovered to 150/80. I talked to my Doc informed him that I was concerned about my bp, I was getting readings at home of 140/80 at rest while lying in bed. He said that was ok and not to worry... I cut back my test dose uped my cardio. A few months ago I had ended up in emergency for something unrelated, now I am definatley a white coat syndrome person when my bp is taken. It was 190/100 when the nurse admitted me. The physican I saw gave me a Calcium Channel blocker. I think the trt played a part but something on top of that was going on.....

Now on the ARB I have been taking my BP three times a day, two readings each time approximately five min apart. My daily average is 125/75 - 130/80 currently, I would still like it lower but its not horrible.

I will investigate interactions with my ARB and read any studies I can find as you have suggested.

Thanks again for the reply.

118/71 HR 49 - increased nigella sativa to 3000 mg per day and Q10 to 800 mg per day. RHR is down and expect to see systolic numbers drop over the next week.
your resting heart rate is going down:oops: are you doing more cardio with the supplements??
