Gladiator truck

I think it would look sick with a lift on it and some bigger tires, but probably functionally useless to you.
Nice! I'm mostly a Ford guy but right after that I'm a REAL Jeep guy :)

Just me but a little bit of a lift and tires would be in order. View attachment 4752
I was going to lift it 4" and some 38's but I actually like the look of it now. Plus I can still park in underground parking, lol. I had a f150 with a 6" lift and 46" tires and it was big, no turning radius, but no one cut me off, lol.

Is it AWD or 4x4?

I used to own a grand cherokee overland that was AWD and I absolutely loved that AWD system. I think it was the quadra drive II.
4x4, my Grande Cherokee was awd. My wife has had a jeep for 8 years, its great in the winter.

The magnusson moss act also states that the manufacturer has to prove the performance part caused the failure. I definitely wouldn't want to go down that road because they would tear your car apart with a fine tooth comb. But it is there to protect us. But like others have said. Its all in your relationship with the dealer. Some will deny a claim for a intake, others dont care at 800hp.
I am sure my buddy would cover it as long as the factory would. Especially if he installs it. But I will clear it with him first. He the type who is a man of his word

Sounds like you have an "in" and you will be fine. Its no sweat off the dealers back to do warranty work. They actually get paid well from the manufacturer for warranty work in most cases. I dont understand why some of them want to be dicks. They normally treat you good if you buy all your vehicles through the same place.

Where did you hear that? My car has nav and satellite and In no way is that connected to my tuning device, you cannot access any of that from satellite. In fact I can put my car back to stock and the only thing you will ever see is how many times the computer has been flashed.

If you flashed it they can tell what was done as various components collect data and when they plug in diagnostic equipment they will see the discrepancies between the units and sensors. Guys I know working in the shop tell me all about it as they see it every day. Denial of warranty fights are never fun with customers.

I'm sure it depends on how old the vehicle is. The older the vehicle the easier to hide mods if you just remove them, but new ones are hard, if not impossible now.

They can also tell by reading the data recorder as it records all aspects of performance, and when those are outside of mfg limits they know it was modded: exceeding specs of HP, RPM, torque, speed, etc, all raise red flags.

As for the Nav, OnStar, perhaps it's a USA thing? but I've heard a couple horror stories from friends down south about modding brand new vehicles and it was known. One in particular: guy chipped a brand new truck and on his way home a voice came on his system and told him he had just voided his warranty while he was driving.

I'll see if I can find any more truth to this, but seeing as how all vehicles are fully connected these days with voice control and apps linking the car's data to your phone through the manufacturer's servers I dont doubt it.

I dont agree with that.. mines a 2015 (2020 model same) the only data thats recorded is when your airbags deploy. ( which is not even connected to the pcm to read parameters like you say) I told you what they can see. They can see the number of times my car has been flashed. This may be a different story for a high class Mercedes or mclaren or something exotic. But simply not the case for a ford.

Sure they could see it all if i left my tuner in the car and let them connect to it.. but If i was to flash it back to stock. They cannot acces the data... its not there

BMW is what I have 1st hand knowledge of in this case with chip, exhaust, etc.

MB as well, I know that speed, hp, rpm, etc are stored in multiple locations. A couple more memorable ones that I was actually around for at the time so I saw the actual vehicles:

CLS of some sort (MB). It needed a new intake manifold and they figured out it was modded. All murdered out and stunk of weed should have been red flag #1, lol!

I also remember a pug fugly blue G65 AMG truck was caught red handed doing mileage tampering and had a chip removed as the actual mileage and performance parameters were pulled from another location.

Truck story was a Dodge I think, but like said I have no 1st hand of that.

Just saying...

Ya i dont see how they could tell anything from that. All it would tell me is throtle postiion, brakes on or off, speed and rpm. How can you tell a car is modifed from that?

No you cant tamper with mileage.. thats a whole other story.. also not accessable from a tuner.
If they are telling you they can read horsepower from the tuner. They are straight up lying. Thats simply not possible. You need to put the car on a dyno to do that. They also havent used " chips" for years, everything is done by hand held tuners now

Beats me then, that's what I've been told by guys in the industry. The only mods I had in my old Ram 1500 were a pair of 12" subs and a PA speaker hooked up to an old Cobra CB so I could yell at people, play music outside, and tell jokes in traffic. That was more than enough fun. I really miss that truck 🥺

I drive a station wagon now, and dug up my old PA and Cobra a couple days ago. I wonder if I can stuff the speaker under the hood, I will try this weekend. Warranty will be ok!

My current truck is 3/4 and has a levelling kit and slighty larger tires. So not like your 150.. Even so, I can't get into about half the underground parking lots. Good thing I never really go to the city. Any truck truly is a bitch to drive in big cities. I find navigating newer strip mall parking lots awful. You can't turn sharp enough to get around. A couple of times I have been so frustrated getting aroudn these parking lots I just drove over the curbs and dividers.. Not doing it to be a dick, but I couldn't get around any other way without doing 100 3 point turns.

I actually only like doing functional mods... I would never put a lift kit on, but I need it to fit bigger tires. Bigger tires are very functional for my needs for increased ground clearance and getting through mud/snow/sand.

Let’s put it this way. My Jeep Grande Cherokee was in two accidents, not my fault for a total of 50,000 in damage. The car was worthless. I needed 20,000 to pay off my loan, he told me he couldn’t sell the car, but gave me 20,000 and gave the vehicle to his 18 year old son.

Like he said, you have bought 4 vehicles from me in 6 years. You are a good customer.
He also buys from my shop. He’s about an hour away from me, never been in my shop, but trusted that I said it was good. Spends about 7000 a year on meat from me. That’s why he said he’d trade the supercharger for meat, lol. It’s funny he sends one of his guys to come pick up, or his son. He’s never been in, lol.

He’s a great guy. Shit came in on holiday Monday so I could get the Jeep. And no he didn’t rip me off on price. I checked out the price on one exactly like it intown and it was a few grand more.

It’s funny, I texted him on Thursday at 10:45 pm, then he texted me back at 9, and we did the deal and it was mine by 11 am. Took care of everything, including insurance.

Then I met him on Monday, took a rip in his sons gladiator, we bullshitted for a couple hours, sat in his supercars in the showroom, (they have signs don’t touch unless you are naked)

Then I signed, he gave me 3 Jeep jackets (retailed at $130) and I left.

So I think he’ll fix it thru warranty if something went wrong. At least that’s the feeling I get.

My brother in law is his controller (does his books), that’s how I originally met him.

They use Sirus for the wifi connection thing. They give a free 2 year thing for it. I didnt hook it up. I don’t want them reading what I’m doing.

How many various Single Board Computers are in a new vehicle now?IIRC,the German vehicles MT mentions have had quite an assortment for at least 10 years.Huge number of lines of code.

Im not even sure to be honest only 3 I know of. But mines a stick car. Autos would actually have another one. German cars are a computer in a can and I has no business working on something like that..lol

CP story on Yahoo regarding the Nova Scotia shooter.
Police obtained data from infotainment systems in a 2013 Ford Taurus and 2015 MB C-300.
"Police say these systems can store synchronized cellphone data regarding navigation, texting, phone calls and internet-enabled content including traffic conditions and weather".
I would bet this can be accessed wirelessly with the right tools.

I loved the scrambler.. these trucks are sharp .Best of both worlds Jeep and a pickup
Unfortunately I need full size for towing and next inline is a diesel .
