training twice a day

guys I ask you that you are more experienced than me But according to you it is normal that a person trains twice a day in the morning and afternoon

Obviously not every day but the days of his training

4 times a week

obviously it is under cycle but it seems to me an exaggeration of a training of this type you want to think about i

Works great for a pre-contest thing.... big bodypart for the first workout and the smaller one done in the evening , usually with cardio.....
Now keep in mind if you choose to do the 2-a-day workout, it's usually a day-killer....
You need to get up and get the fuel in and timed for a good workout.....once ready, give 'er.... but remember, you will be back in the gym in 6-8 hours....
Go home, eat and get a meal prepped for post nap.... eat, then nap.... as much as you can ... this is how you will recover for the next session...
Eat upon waking or as soon as you can.... try and eat once more before going back in the evening...... this is when a lot of folks use stims of some type....
Hit the second session.... just know your intensity may be down a bit and should be.... this is why most splits like this are done big part/small part.... your CNS will take a beating if you try and go balls-to-the-wall 2x in one day.... my best advice is keep the intensity at about an 8-9.... with 11 being the type of set with drops, rest pause or any other technique to extend the set ..., you'll want volume here, not PR's..... also why its best to train push and pull muscles together like this..... i.e chest and delts in the morning, or just chest, then tris ( or delts and tris) in the evening.... so it's not like these are 2 marathon sessions... you just split the workload out over a day instead of a couple of hours.... also good if you have lagging body parts you'd like to bring up

I usually train twice a day even when I am off cycle lift weights I. The morning get the pumped up look for the day and then I do cardio i. The evening after work

Man I couldn't do it. I do much better with 4 good intense sessions per week rather than that kind of volume

I did that this summer. I found that a full work out in the morning took too much out of me for the work day so splitting the work outs worked like a charm for me.

I use to do it. Too old for that now. Recovery is longer than it use to be regardless of the extra "help".

I like it for .... say , chest/shoulder split. If my reps are more concentrated than normal it slows my workouts down. I'll superset a compound of chest with a iso for shoulders. When I go back later I'll switch to shoulder compound and chest iso.
Usually pretty killer :)

“Double Taps” can tax your body that’s for sure but if your disciplined in your eating and sleeping and I mean DICIPLINED!!!! Then I think it’s arguably, when “helped” the best way to make quick gains as your stimulating growth more often.... in my humble opinion...

When I Double Tap I can train each Muscle group at least 2 x per week maybe more.... that’s double the protein synthesis on a muscle per week.

Then of course if I’m leaning out the opportunity for “Yoho fasted cardio” in the AM and old school Arnold Shwarzenneger training in the PM!!! Those days are where I make my best cuts!!

Not a hope. I used to back in the day and actually trained three times a day. Weights in the morning before work. Lunch was skipping, shadow boxing and Kata. The night was Martial Arts teaching and training depending on the day. Man, I can't believe I did that for ten years straight. I then went to two a day with weights in the morning and Martial Arts at night. Now that I'm old and worn out it is a pretty simple 2-3 hours 4-five times a week. I can't split it or I get baked within a couple of days.

My job is way to physical to train twice. It's pretty tough some days to even train once, I usually have 3 days off a week so try for my work out on days off and only one or two training days on work days.

My husband and I argue about how stressful this on the body. I opt for doing 1.yoga/stretching 2.for natural resistance fatigue with body /arobics and 3.max weight fatigue for muscle building, heavy sets to drop sets for max fatigue, but he thinks it puts too much stress on the body and not enough recovery time. I think if you listen to your body and know your limits during each session its actually ideal. I rarely get a chance to commit to this cause of family obligations but come September all our children are in school so I might just be able to prove my point about maximizing gains.
I agree doing more damage than good isnt going to help if its a matter of ego, but utilize the full spectrum of personal fitness and how your body talks and feels I think can be more than an hour or two 5 days a week. IMO

Many years ago an English muscle mag carried a story about two guys doing a recomp with two full body workouts a day and very large suspension shots before each workout.Claimed they didn’t get over trained in a month of this and achieved remarkable transformations.

Difficult for me now due to work commitments and just getting older.
I aim to train everyday and take an occasional day off when I feel my body and nervous system needs a break

Fasted cardio in the morning for me. Weights a few hours later. Then maybe some yoga/stretching in the evening along with some more light cardio.

Actually my argument is, resistance training 2x a day is too much. We already do 30-40 sets for one workout... take many sets to failure... we lift heavy. Utilizing drop sets and forced negatives.... being we are almost 40 years old... my argument is 2 workouts like that a day is too much... I've always said a 2nd workout in the day is fine... if its cardio or hiit ... in your case, yoga as well.

Just to set the record straight... I wish i had time in the day to do a 2nd workout to get cardio/core in a few times a week.
But I stand by my beilive that heavy resistance training 2x a day is too much... we do a 5 day split.. basically 1 body prat a day at 30 or more sets..... I know this 40 year old body will definitely get an injury if I go any harder!!

Twice a day workouts or am cardio and pm workout? These are two very different things

I'm a bit confused here. When I say I did it all summer I'm talking about say on tri/bi day I'll do Tri's in the morning and Bi's in the evening. If this thread is about doing Tri's/Bi's morning and evening than for me that's definitely out.

I would workout twice a day with a nap inbetween if I could. Early AM is my only free time so its not going to happen for me. Can I just have a nap mid day? That would be amazing.
