Another thread from my recently post-happy ass;
Due to my injury which was an ankle/achilles issue, slowly getting better but I had switched to 30 mins moderate intensity “walk” (LOL) for my cardio. I realize my heart rate doesn’t get that high; I’m not really aiming at burning fat, but I still like to stay somewhat active even when I couldn’t really crush my legs the way I’d have liked to the last few weeks or so.

Interested to hear what people have to say.
I saw a meme on fb once and it was like two powerlifters standing there with a speech bubble saying “cardio? What is that Spanish? “ lol always comes to mind.

Depends where you are walking and whom you are walking with.

I walk trails every morning as soon as i wake up. Took the leap and stopped working in March, so i can do this consistently.
I live in the Rockies and it is IN THE ROCKIES, lol...Lots of hills and valleys. mountains etc. I walk with my wife and our two pooches One is 22 months and the other is 4.5 months and high energy.
It is easily attainable to get a high heart rate and breathing up while hiking these godamn trails. It is a love hate thing for me. Love it after and hate it during as i treat it as HIIT cardio and not a sight seeing journey and keeping up with our doges as we let them off leash as no one ios around.

I do no other forms of cardio at all and am getting quite in shape.

I was talking about steady walking on a treadmill with no incline or just walking around the block in the city.
‘Your walking is a bit different, lol.
‘My parents when they lived in pencticton it was the same. Up and down trails, I was breaking keeping up with them, lol.

Well, this country mouse just had to point out walking is different out west where we are men, not in a concrete jungle In the east. city mouse.

Shit gets real out here.....lololol jk brother.
BUT i can get decent cardio walking anywhere if you want to kick it up a notch. Not in the mall counting steps....:giggle:

My walking was nothing compared to a gorge hike; let alone a higher paced with a dog ; but I do get a sweat going ; and it’s all I’ve had comfortably lately so I been going with it. I’ll get on a stationary bike maybe for a bit this weekend

With your injury, can you do any calisthenics-style moves that push the heart rate and are basically cardio?
Such as Jumping Jacks, Spiderman crawls, Mountain Climbers, Burpees, or something like skipping rope.

Off topic but if you have an Achilles tendon injury - BPC157 worked better on my chronic pain (2 years in both) than any other injury.
If you can't do anything else, keep doing it. Walking is a natural way to work out the kinks and align the body. Every doctor I ever spoke with about my back issue, said walk everyday.

All I do for cardio is walking.. Altho I do it on an incline on the treadmill and I'm 300+lbs.

If Ur speaking on just road work then I don't think it's very efficient really unless you're fairly heavy. Say 250+. But with Ur injuries it's far better than nothing. I'd just focus on how many steps Ur getting per day.

All I do for cardio is walking, I personally think it is enough. As long as you consistently do it every day, and aim for around 10k steps or so.

@Goldenrod do you think that BPC 157 and TB 500 would be effective in muscle recuperation; say a strain ? As opposed to mostly connective tissue and ligament recovery ? Just wondering if I had a RMT do some deep tissue work on my lower back ; injecting BPC and TB you think it would help? I have always had problems with tightness and my lower erector muscles ; I deadlifted far too much and too often my earlier lifting years; to this day I’m still fighting that muscular imbalance

Maybe is the best answer I can provide. I have used both a lot and if they do make your muscle pulls/strains/work better then they would helpful for growth and healing albeit a minor amount on the former.
I have never found either great for some muscle injuries - I have never had a serious injury other than a fucked knee but tons of pulled muscles and ligaments/tendons. I found script HGH and low dose nandrolone better for muscle issues.
I know they help tendons a lot and a few chronic issues I had healed and never came back. I guess the short answer is yes to some degree but in my case much more on tendon issues.

I wish I had a more definitive answer but most studies are done on tendon tears. I am confident they can be used on a regular basis to prevent issues as is the case with TB500 and racing dogs. Helps prevent issues or recurrences.

I'm the "green-horn" on deck... so take it easy on me... ;)

I've done loads of cardio in various forms - road biking, stationary biking, elliptical, treadmills, cross-country running, stairs, wind-sprints and so forth. Mind you, that certainly is an exhaustive list of exercises that work your cardiovascular system.

There is a sweet old lady in my neighbourhood who can power-walk the hell out of me - I've even tried to keep up with her on a couple of occasions but keep well behind her so she wouldn't think I was stalking her... LOL

She walks so damn fast - keep in mind she is shorter than I am by at least 8-10 inches (just guessing) - her arms are swinging, she takes short choppy steps but holy crap - she covers ground like a GD gazelle. Trying to keep up with her had me into a gentle jog - I was bloody embarrassed and I'm more embarrassed saying it here now... 😒

So I respectfully must disagree with those who believe you cannot get your heart rate jacked from walking - as someone astutely stated above - it depends who you are walking with and where you are walking.

For my money, this little older girl could kick my assets in any walk - I do not doubt that for a minute!

But then again, that is just my opinion.
