Fuck buying local (most local)

Napa isnt so bad because they also carry other brands too, but there are some things i will
Only replace OEM.
For imports i always used to use WorldPac. Ive ordered timing belts and water pumps that would come in Honda, Nissan or whatever packaging. Much cheaper then OTC at the dealer.
Gotta watch some of the after market shit. Cheap chinese timing chains get cost a lot more in the long run.
I am going to go old school on my old Dodge and visit a wrecker. Id rather a good radiator built
In 2003 than a new chinese pos from car quest or napa recently.

Is there any way to get registered to WorldPac without being an established automotive repair business and having a valid business license?

I agree.. Wife owns a honda pilot.. I put nothing but honda parts on it, except the brakes which had issues from honda.. Luckily its a honda so not much parts are ever needed lol...

The truck gets parts based on whatever info I can find on line about part choices and quality.

Nappa in town never gives any options for part choices.. It's always whatever they prefer to sell you, which is always the Nappa brand. The only time I've heard them offer any other part is when I specifically ask for AC delco for example.. Or when they don't have the Nappa brand in stock, they will offer you whatever brand they can get. You know they push the nappa brand by not telling you any other brand they can get b/c nappa brand is their bigger profit margin.

Our nappa in town has been caught selling you regular nappa parts, but charging you the "nappa gold"part price. Had a buddy return a nappa part he bought in town to a Nappa in the big city. The city nappa guy couldn't figure out why the numbers weren't matching what the price was supposed to be until he realized he was charged nappa gold for a reg nappa part. Same guy purposely tested the nappa in town to see if it was a coincident, but nope nappa reg at a nappa gold price. I'm not even sure if nappa has nappa reg/gold anymore, this was along time ago.

If they are using Napa Pro Link, which they should but some dont, it will show all brands available to them. Can even use OEM part number and cross that way. I have access to pro link as well, so if you are ever wondering what they can get PM me.

I've had them cross reference stuff many times. I've gone in and told them the make model of vehcile and what part I need. and it doesn't come up on their system, then I give them the rock auto part numbers I found and then it shows up.

I think I'm done with nappa.. friggin irratating my last two purchases there.

I like rock auto, but man shipping has gone up so much for them. Almost need to wait until 4 or 5 guys in town need to order and then share shipping charges..

Careful with rock auto. One of my coworkers bought a timing chain there for his Buick Enclave recently and it came apart. Smashed the valves in his engine. Lol

Except for groceries and drug store stuff... I sit in my chair at home... surf the internet for what I am looking for, write down prices shipping and delivery times, I also call around town and get the same info ... what ever turns out to be the best combination of price quality delivery times I buy from there. Local smocal ... don't care, if you can't compete too bad. I do take customer service into consideration on local businesses I do buy from quite a bit that are within my range of competitiveness. A lot of vehicle work I do myself except for transmission stuff.
