Smoking alot of weed and physique appearance

everything in context.
Anxiety literally shuts down blood flow to the frontal lobes.
If cannabis reduces ones anxiety, they can experience an increase in mental clarity and capacity.
There is clearly an inverted U curve though and when dosed too high (individual context) people can lose the ability to assess their current level of impairment and think they are fine.

The number of people that smoke pot on the job is ridiculous and half of them aren't aware they are impaired. Being stoned while counselling just wouldn't fly.
Pretty much Every time some kid slices their finger on the slicer it’s because they smoked a joint with friends before coming to work.
They are not aware and take a 1/4” chunk off the end of their fingers.

My uncle was a salesman. Always won salesman of the month wherever he worked.
When I lived in BC I’d go and visit him all the time. he had a certain charm, plus you never got stoned, just a little high, lol. Do his job I think it was a bonus. I wouldn’t want to get high and cut meat, lol.

Shit when I used to work 80-90 hour weeks, my buddies would show up at the shop on Sat night, smoke and have a couple beers and then I’d be stuck stuffing sausage stoned out of my mind, lol. Fuck that sucked, I just wanted to lay down and sleep. But it was only stuffing, nothing that I could hurt myself doing, but mind numbing respective work is even worse when high.

I don’t do it anymore, just found the lustre wore off. I hardly drink anymore either.
When I was younger and getting together with friends, socializing, it was fun, but to sit at home by myself, meh.

meh... It all depends on the person, the frequency, the dose and the purpose..

I've been several variations of the above..
I used to get stoned right after work until I went to bed 5pm-11pm REALLY stoned..
Did this for 4 or 5 month and quit cold turkey.. coulnd't believe how much more energy and intelligence I had.. And my perspective on stuff got better..

Right now, I take a couple puffs right before I crawl into bed.. I barely feel it, but it makes me sleep like a rock. And I don't feel groggy in the morning. Been doing this for a few years. Everyone knows me except my wife and 2 good friends think I'm anti pot and look down on stoners lol.. They think this because they see me as a guy who lives a healthy live in every aspect..

Completely agree. That is why I’ll usually ask them to cut down enough so they can function properly. I don’t care if anyone quits. Nothing in excess is going to be that good for you.

I don't use cannabis, but all the people I know that do are highly educated and driven. Ph.D.'s, Masters and lots of nurses. All healthcare people. Mind you, that is my social circle.
It will raise estrogen. That has been known for years.
I am definitly one of the outliers you mention. I find it pot helpful to provide a second looks at completed research. It can strip away bias and provide improvements. That said, I operate on a different level than most people. I’ve never noticed an effect on my physique or when training -I do take months off a few time a year though.

Use your new found brain power to learn something, increase your wealth, fix your house etc.

Once you start capitalizing on your new found time, you will wish you never wasted time being a zombie before
agree with @3ml - no angel here and have smoked the odd joint but not in ages. It makes me waste hours doing nothing and gives me cravings for crap. Many chronic people are generally hiding from the world and are self medicating a problem. I know it is a medicine in many situations but in this instance we are not talking about using it as a medicine, we are talking about people taking so much they are stoned more than they are sober.
Don't give a fuck what world you live in, that can't be a good thing and if you worked for me I would fire you. I fired more security personnel because they were stoned and were great big zombies. I would rather have a 160 lb guy beside me that is alert and knows how to handle themselves vs. a 260 lb muscle head stoned on weed who can't think straight.

If it sounds like I'm against weed, I'm not at all but I am against anything that consumes your life from being productive.

We deal with that at work. Fortunatiately none of them have been hurt yet but its bound to happen, We work with equipmewnt that can chew you up and spit you out and never miss a beat. Making it legal was not a great idea IMHO, as many seem to think using at work is no issue. Of course that opinion comes from someone that has never smoked it and has only tried edibles once and has no inclination to try them again...its a big MEH as far as I am concerned.

Smoking pot at work is as bad as drinking at work as far as I am concerned. Impaired is impaired.

You are not missing out on anything.
And making it legal was not a good idea. But hey got him votes.

I was a heavy user for the past 3 years, I quit completely about 6 weeks ago to see if it would have an effect on my mental health, Anectodatally, I do feel like quitting made me look a little less watery and puffy but I mainly found benefit in the renewed focus and clarity with training. Not being high all the time makes me more of a robot with my training and nutrition which is fantastic for bodybuilding lol. On a side note I found myself really struggling with times when I was sober, when you are high like that all the time, it makes those times when you are not high pretty unbearable, or at least that was my experience.
I also quit around the end of January after being a heavy user for a long time. I used to smoke cigarettes about ten years ago and basically replaced it with weed which pretty much turned me into a burn out. I'm fortunate that I have a gym at home when all the shut downs happened but because I was always getting baked my workouts were dogshit. Do a couple sets, take a Bong rip, eat a bagel, pet the dog, another bong rip... Meh finish the workout tomorrow. Now after quitting my work outs are back on point and I much more motivated to get things done.

Youre a burn out if you want to be one. Everyone has their choice weed is no different.

If you smoke before you do work and cant work whos fault is that. Weed has saved my life mentally and sleep wise, but it can be overdone like anything. Take too many sleeping pills you probably wont wake up to even make it to work.

Question is, are you in control of your mind. Apples and oranges weed vs alcohol. Stoner vs alcoholic vs pill popper vs _________ same mindset same outcome in different ways.

Its in your mind and body, and thats probably where the transformation was found. Whether you know it or not ✌

I tell all my guys that if i catch you smoking weed then im kicking you off my site. Some of them will still sneak a puff here and there but this keeps the bullshit to a min

im stunned that so many peoples coworkers are getting high at work. thats intolerable. problematic on so many levels.

would you tolerate this if they were sneaking a beer in here and there? cant you be liable if you know your workers are sneaking in this behaviour? not trying to shit on you. just looking out

Im not really their boss, just their foreman when they are on my sites. These guys are all grown men. Age range of 20-50 years old. They do listen to me because they are kind of afraid of me and they also know i got 3 bucks in my pocket for bus fair if they piss me off.
But people are going to do what they want in the end. If i catch them, they are on the bus

You have no idea how many people are high at work on a daily basis and work circles around most useless people.

I agree impaired is impaired. What about situations where someone is a chronic user, then they stop for work and they are more messed up from anxiety agitation etc.. kind of painting themselves into a corner if they push it too much.

Love how people blanket statement weed users still to this day. Moderation is the key, like all good things. And yeah no place for it at work. If you smoke all the time (or drink all the time or look for sex all the time) you are not in control yes your life will suffer.

Use it in the later part of the day (and not every day)after your responsibilities have been met and you most likely will improve many aspects of your life. Sleep quality appetite and mood as well as creativity all benefit here.

Way better than painkillers alcohol and the majority of prescription antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs for certain. Unfortunately many are inherently helpless and what was a good thing derails their momentum. Those incapable of moderation do turn into dumbasses at everyone's expense no doubt. Weed is still the least harmful choice they can make. Clean is the best choice but we all know how that's going.

Food for thought gents.

Just if anyone has a genetic pre disposition to mental health issues like bi polar disorder, schizophrenia or any psychosis weed can bring it out easier. That's only downside I can think of and smoking it is worse for cancers

You'd be surprised the amount of functioning addicts in our world, not just with cannabis but even drugs like meth, cocaine, heroin. Im sure there are lots of top CEO's/highly successful people who can get away with it. There are medical prescriptions for cannabis now as well so if it helps someone and improves their quality of life who are we to say otherwise?

The funny thing with cannabis is that lots of older folk hate it/have a negative stigma towards it as that's how they were raised.... until they need CBD for their arthritis or THC for pain and then all of a sudden its the best thing in the world!!!

Everything effects everyone differently. The key is being able to moderate and find what helps you, not what hinders you.
