Usernames?

Ok guys your going to sign up to this or any forum and have to pick a username. The worst choice you can make is your own name. Parts of most forums are searchable via Google. And therefore someone looking you up on Google might not only find out your a member of this forum but that you also take steroids.

Surely to God I should not have to educate younger folk about how to smartly use the internet. But given the amount of folks that sign up using a real name I guess I need to.

So guys and gals use common sense and pick a good username.

And if anyone wants to change their username you can easily do it yourself or I can do it for you without losing any of you post history

lol, we should all change our usernames and avatars and see if everyone can figure out who is who.

I gave it a try, it needs to be approved, and its locked in for a month. If its approved I'll keep it. I've got the same name on other forums that I dont use anymore so it's probably smart to switch it up

Guys should keep in mind their user names are connected with their credibility, trust from other members etc... I can tell you from experience, a member at another forum changed his name. It was not received well. It's an online identity. If changed, it can be perceived a lot of different ways.

Now if you're a brand new member and used your real name, besides the fact you're an idiot, it would make sense at that point to change your name to something else. If you don't fall into that category I suggest keeping your name, however shitty it may be.

Good points. I tried "gondar" without the "1" like a decade ago when I joined Canadian Mass (or was it Chemical Mass?) but strangely enough it was already taken somehow lol. Thought about dropping the 1 since join some other boards but didn't because of what you posted.

Yeah exactly. I miss CM. Was a great board.

been A.B since early 2000s. Too lazy and have no imagination to create a good handle . Some forums still around and kickin (ology, wcbb, ae) that have stood the test of time. RIP to bolex. That forum I was on in 98- used to be a fckn great place.

Without the 1 I personally would be totally confused who you are.
