To rest or not?

Two days ago I fell off the treadmill and hit the bionic knee against the wall. It has been quite sore but not swollen. Dumb as I am I kept working out (less cardio than usual but still 2 sessions of 20 min a day) and I also did legs (high reps, low weight). Thing is that the knee is really sore (inside compartment and patella). Just wondering what I should do next.

You kinda already said it yourself jokingly since you know that continuing wouldn't be the best idea (you aren't dumb - just motivated and determined perhaps). :)

I'm no Doctor, but personally I think you should give yourself some rest even though sometimes that's much harder to do than the actual workouts themselves. At the minimum, please consider giving your bionic knee a rest from everything unless it's specifically to make things get better and heal (i.e. physiotherapy, message therapy, light stretching, etc.).

Good luck,

For me if I ever have to question if I need to take a break and rest, that means I need to take a break and rest.

Time is dependant on how my body feels, but I'll typically take 3 days and do a big fat load of nothing other than eat and rest, and then Ill lightly work the affected area (which is usually my lower back) to see where its at in the healing process and what it can handle, and ease myself back into it.

Any sign of pain or discomfort and its a full stop, and on to another excercise, or more rest if no progress healing. Thats just me though.

I hear you but I'm so obsessed with my weight that I keep going even if I'm super tired or sore. I wish I was like most people and put my feet up and watch TV but I feel terribly guilty when doing nothing :censored:

You've got to have some other hobbies for downtime. You have to distract yourself. If I'm out due to injury and getting cabin fever I'll go to my garage and wrench on a motorbike. That constructively kills time.
