Shot in the dark here

IMO, muscle spasms are occuring, very different than a pump, muscles knot up and do not release. Potassium deficiency is all to common on atkins shit diet brother.
Mag potassium imbalance also come to mind. B12 will not affect this at all.
If you try tyhe mixture i was posting and do it religiously this goes away on atkin diet or keto diet etc.
I am not a doc, but i have had these exact issues and the problem was spasms. from reasons above.
If it were me i would transition to a healthier diet than atkins.
Not good for long term at all. Again, ive been there done that and paid the price.

Did you try the mixture we were looking at on that magnesium post?
Go to doc, get full blood panel, you will never know and none of us on here know either. Get full panel and go from there, electrolytes et al.

I did try the mixture you recommended.. Haven't noticed a difference

I am due for blood work in 2 months.. I am going to stop the cholesterol meds for 1 month.. Apparent;y it takes a month for muscle cramps and pain to go away from the meds if its the meds.. After a month if its not as bad or gone, I'll stay off them and explain to the doctor. If not, I'll bring up the cramping with my doctor when I go in for blood work. I'll also ask my chiro if it coudl be the cholersterol meds. .. He seems to be pretty knowledgable guy

Well I've been on the Cq10 long before I started the statins.. So I don't think its doign much for my sides from the statin, assuming the statin is causing my problems.

I had to shave last night.. I couldn't really grip/hold the razor due to forearm cramps/knots. It's still really bad this morning.

Today will be the first day I stop the statins..
Well you will find out in a week or so if that’s it then.

I googled it and from what I can tell it could take a month to see if its the statins..

I did yard work all day long.. By the afternoon my forearms were a bit better. I can make a tight fist again without pain.

Enjoying your day doing yard work? Hope you have some other fun.

If you are concerned if you need a statin ask the dr for a requisition for a private clinic to do a CT Calcium score. In EDM it will cost you about $450. It is the only true way to know if you have plaque buildup in your arteries. Unfortunately in Canada they will only do it in the healthcare system if you’ve already had a heart attack. Well worth the investment for every man 50 and over

Thanks for the info!!!

I think there is so many different opions on cholestral out there its crazy.. My wife's bad cholesterol was really high, but her good cholesteroal was even higher, so the doctor said the ratio was great and therefore she's fine.

Forearms finally feel normalish..

I got one knot in my right brachioradiualis still. This is a knot that keeps coming back and doesn't get completly better until I go to the chiropractor for dry needling.

I made a mistake though.. I stopped the statin and I switched my magnesium to calcium/magnesium.. I should have just done one and see how it helped or didn't help.

I don't even know if what I changed helped yet. I have to do something phusical that would normally cramp me up to see it helped or not.

MY taurine came yesterday so I started that as well. I don't; think taurine will help me b/c I was getting the cramps and knots when I Was takoing it before..

if your muscle issues is due to statin the Dr can run BW to confirm if you have rehabdomyolysis (a condition when muscle cells break down). No need to experiment unless you come back negative.

Hope this helps

Do I need to stay on the statin to have this test done?

*Rhabdomyolysis .

I do like the way you spelt it though OJJ, That would describe muscle damage caused by rehabilitation :)

I had it myself from statins, crestor in particular. Unfortunately it took me a while to recognize what was going on.
First statin I ever used, the sides were discussed with both my Dr and Pharmacist. They both described it a very rare and presenting in a localized area like a quadricep or bicep and pretty painful. "Very dangerous, watch out for it". I think it took a few months to show up.

I didn't clue in because it came on like the flue but iirc I had no fever. Very sore from head to toe, headache, dizziness weak as fuck. Not what i would have called "pretty painful" though, tough to say where my pain tolerance rates, lifting hard, playing hard and many surgeries affect that I think . Worst "Flu" I ever had by a country mile. Every day popping that lil pill.

After 2 weeks in bed the wife put her foot down and we were off to the walk in clinic. Quickly from there to emerg. Spent 3? days in the hospital. IV's and shit, talk of dialysis.

When family Dr came back I saw him for a follow up and when he saw the bloodwork he was very upset they didn't put me on dialysis or some other better treatment than what they gave me, again my memory fails me. Kidneys took a bit of a beating which is permanent. For at least three months I felt really rough, probably 7-8 before I felt pretty much normal. I was not training in those days but certainly lost some mass and strength, probably a little something to do with how I've never been able to fully regain my youthful build or strength completely.

@animal-inside hope this helps some, sorry to ramble on, hoping the detail might help you. IMO get the BW right away simply for the purpose of possibly identifying the cause. I don't think you need to stay on to get it, again don't trust my memory but I believe the test detects the presence of the stuff that leaked out of your muscle cells and the kidneys are having to cleanup. (Rhabdo is the cell walls disintegrating, releasing all the goop inside and then collapsing into something like useless scar tissue)

One more time - supposedly it almost never presents the way it did with me and please fact check everything I said my memory sucks and this was a long time ago their may be new data

What I feel deffinitely doens't line up with what you felt, but its enough to make me understand I should make the appointment and discuss with the doctor. Thanks

When that happens to me.. it's from dehydration.
If I drink power aid... lots of water and take potassium and magnesium... it really seems to help.
But water is key. Drink even when not thirsty.... even more if you drink coffee, or caffeine or alcohol

LOL you caught me typing without my "cheaters on"....Fuck getting older...i could barely see the screen but kept typing based on my ego.

Can't image what it will be like when we get as old as @Bagua...

Control+, Control +.
lol, I only found out about that about a month ago. I was chatting with the chat app thingy to the guy at ProteinCo about something and I kind of lit him up about how lame their new website was 'I can't even see the whole stupid thing on my screen' 'try ctrl-' lol, a tad embarrassed

I found out the same way. A kid at work saw me straining to read a SO. He hit Control +. All was good.
